I never actually partook during the passing ~~over~~ around of the emblems but I did get to have the leftovers. Seriously! My uncle was the elder who provided the bloodwine (homemade!) and my aunt baked the unleavened fleshbread for the ritual. I don't know, maybe they thought it would be disrespectful to throw it away.

Apparently, if God is blessing the WBTS as much as they say, human sacrifice is still acceptable, especially of one's children... it's just been slightly modified, if you know what I mean...

You have me scrambling through my old notes now as I, too, tried to track down Braunda Thurman and Margaret Hinson a while back.

All I have on Braunda Thurman of Las Vegas, Nevada is that she married Wayne A Gamette, 7 October 1941 in Mesa, Arizona, Maricopa County.

As to Margaret Hinson... there was a daughter of this name born in 1897 to Shelton Hinson and Mattie Daisy Fletcher of Memphis, TN; in the 1880 census there was a Margaret, age 22, married to James Hinson and they lived in Fairfield, Iowa; a Maggie Hinson died in Fort Stockton, Texas in October 1972; in the 1930 census there was a Margaret Hinson in Angelina County, Texas, born in 1915. I was also sure I learned that the Bonnie Boyd you found in Texas had a sister named Margaret, but I can't find my notation on that at the moment and was never able to discover who that Margaret married (looking for a Hinson).

Favourite Horror/Comedy

mine is "shaun of the dead.

" such a funny movie ("its on random!").

besides being funny it also has genuine horror elements that you wouldn't expect plus an evisceration.

I'm kinda partial to Little Shop of Horrors (1961).

I was delightfully surprised by Shaun of the Dead-- really excellent mix of horror, comedy and romance (don't forget the romance!).

what freedom are you thankful for tonight and what are you doing with it?.

i remember a whole lotta friday nights spent at the hall having the "same old same old" drilled into my skull, listening for something they could never say, waiting for something that would never come, wondering where the spirit of life and light and love was that i so longed to tap into... or sometimes just wishing i could be out walking under the stars or be home watching a crappy tv show.

so tonight i am thankful i am free to do with my friday nights (and all my days and nights) what i will, free of guilt and anxiety and spiritual starvation, and i am here enjoying good company while sporadically playing hide and seek with my young daughter who would be thankful that she is not required to sit down and shut up for long, meaningless blocks of time if she had ever been exposed to it, and i'm thankful she hasn't.. what about you?

i know i have been quiet for a while... i am sorry my friends, hopefully i will think of something meaningful to say again someday, something we can all discuss and enjoy.

things will never be the same again, and i hope that from this passing shadow to the next you find a piece of what you are looking for.. the tiniest things can make the most enormous differences.... i wish you all well.

this was my second email to them.

i haven't been up early enough lately to see if they ignored this one too but i'll check it out next week.

Which PSA was it exactly? I went to the link and all their PSAs involving children and family are listed as "No longer available." What's up with that?
