  Without Sarcasm, How would a witness respond to this?

  i plan on posing this question the next time my dub friends knock on my door..

  what is the good news, the gospel you preach?

  as a witness, what are the responses i can expect?

  I thought I would do a quick check in the Reasoning book to see if there was a standard, recommended, programmed answer to this (it's been a long time since I was in field service myself)...and guess what? Good News and Gospel are not listed topics, nor are they in the index even. LOL.

  If memory serves me at all, they may say something about the good news being that God's kingdom rules, and will SOON bring to ruin those ruining the earth, and turn it into a paradise where you too can live forever if you take the appropriate steps as outlined in this publication [insert whatever they are using these days].

  The cancer has changed my wife

  we found out that she has pancreatic cancer that has spread to the liver and blood vessels.

  she opted for chemo.

  although we have good insurance, we still have to pay quite a bit towards the $17000.00 bill every three weeks for treatment.

  The "Memorial" Is A Perversion Of Christ's Intent

  it is remarkable how 6 million witnesses ( or is it 'witlesses'?

  ) can go thru the yearly ritual of the "memorial" without any of their.

  brain cells moving them towards understanding what a sad, unchristian perversion it is.. what part of "do this in remembrance of me" is so hard to understand?

  I, too, appreciate your posts, Metatron. I think it has something to do with the subliminal message, "Listen closely, this is the voice of God."

  Anyway, I remember as a child my mother stressing the importance of accepting what was offered, gazing respectfully at it a moment, thinking of Christ, then passing it to the next person UNTOUCHED. DO NOT PARTAKE. It is not for you. YOU are not THEM.

  Division is rampant among JWs. Jesus stressed union: the oneness of himself with the Father, oneness of the little flock with the other sheep, oneness of all his disciples with him, and, through him, with the Father. But JWs emphasize seperation: a sharp delineation between Jesus and Jehovah, a sharp delineation between the 144,000 and the great crowd, a sharp delineation between JWs and other Christians, between males and females, and between the various levels of heirarchy in the bOrg.

  This is just the night it is most strongly emphasized, in a repugnant display of rejecting union with Jesus so they can continue holding on to the skirt of the "faithful slave," with whom their true salvation apparently rests.

  I'm so sorry ((((((((((Outoftheorg & wife)))))))))). I pray that you will find ways to add both quantity and quality to your time together now.

  I think good advice, whatever our age or state of health, includes making the very most of every moment to whatever extent is possible: meals of simple, healthful foods, lovingly prepared and shared; focal points of beauty in the immediate environment--a picture or a flower; holding hands and practicing focused deep breathing and relaxation together; creating a time and space to express the whole range of one's thoughts and feelings and then release them... It can be hard to carve out any time or energy to do this when everything else is a whirlwind of daily chores and battles, pain and fear, but...if not not now, when? if not us, who?

  I hope you can find the strength to do whatever it is that will give you what you need.

  You were one of the first people to reach out and make me feel welcome to this forum. If I can do anything for you and your family, please let me know. Would you and/or your wife feel supported by prayers, distance reiki, cards, other (please specify)? We can add her to our on-line vigil.

  Scriptures/Beliefs That Never Sat Right With You

  was there anything that you were taught that made you think twice regarding the watchtower's interpetation??

  the scripture about jesus raising the temple in 3 days sounded like he was going to raise himself back to life.

  i never really understood that scripture.
