Thank you so much, Neverthere, for passing this along!
I have an autistic neice.
Is this also the case for Disneyworld, I wonder?
Passing this along at another board (non jw) that would very much appreciate this information.
This totally bites!

jackson custody twist.
january 27, 2004 .
Well, here's a bit of info I have on Michael Jackson.
My neighbor's long time friend is a nanny for MJ. She has worked for him for a couple of years. First as a housekeeper, then she was called "upstairs". Apparently, one has to have special permission to go up stairs to where the bedrooms are at Neverland.
This nanny's opinion is that MJ is a very caring, and wonderful, father.
And MJ is not the bio Dad to these kids?
You're kidding?!
i knew some parents who really beat the hell out of their kids.
anyone else remember this?
seems like when i was a kid, you could'nt go to a meeting without hearing screams of pain from either the b room or the bathrooms.
I worked with two JW women. One was a woman in her fifties. I don't know how we got on the subject, but she started talking about her son's 18 month old daugther and her behavior at meetings. She proudly told me about how her son took her granddaughter into the back room and began to spank her because she didn't want to sit still in her seat. She also related how the toddler's plaintive cries filled the hall.
I will never forget how taken back she was when she glanced up and saw the mortified look on my face after she finished her "story". Yes, she knew of my JW background. Probably one of the reasons she thought it was ok to share in my presence.
She also held the opinion that one spoiled an infant if you picked it up every time it cried.
Moron.
last night, abc tv's 20/20 aired a one-hour segment entitled "lies, myths, and downright stupidity", hosted by john stossel.
the intent of the program was to prove that certain commonly held beliefs (such as the myth that exposure to cold makes one catch a cold) are untrue.. listed as the number one myth was: "life is getting worse", a look at the common notion that the world has continually become worse as a place to live.
evidence was presented that debunks this claim, such as:.
I caught a little bit of the show. Though, I think I had seen, or read, something similiar not long ago that basically said the same thing-times are much better now.
My Dad was a rabid dooms dayer. Oye! That man could go on for hours about how gawd-awful everything is and how much worse it's getting, and how much worse it's going to be. Granted, some things AREN'T as good as they used to be, however, some things, MANY THINGS, are much better.
Especially, if you are a female in western society. Do I want to go back to the days when I couldn't own property, or have a job? That I would be merely a broodmare for some dude and expected wait on him hand and foot? Uh, no thanks.
Anyone watch "The Barbarians" on the History channel? Oh yeah, I want to go back to the days when children were sold into slavery, and women were taken as the spoils of war. How I long for the days when the Huns used to chop off the heads of their enemies, toss them in a pile, and set them on fire.
For women, it's much better now.

this outfit is spending boku $$$ on internet advertising, as i see banner ads & pop-ups advertising their service everywhere i surf.. anybody use it?
is it worth the $20/month?
Ok, well I just signed up and put some films in my queue. I'm tired of Blockbuster and they have such a limited selection. They don't have most of the classic and indy films I like to watch.
So, I'm going to give it a try.
as some of you know, when cj and i were married, i adopted her daughter, and raised her as my own.
i love her so much, i never referred to her as step-daughter, and never will.
she calls me dad, even though her biological father, somehow found his way out out of the woodwork, when she turned 18.
It's your house and it's your rules. Period.
No debate, no discussion.
Ok, maybe a simple "I'm not comfortable with it" if she protests. That's it.
Though, I would tell her ahead of time and not spring it on her at the last minute.
Or another way could be "We will have your roomS or BedS ready when you get here." Then, you could gauge her reaction.
i saw the photodrama of creation in bethel in color.
i didnt care for it.
All About Eve.
I dunno about being the "greatest", but what a great film.
here's a typical awake!
cover showing the sorts of problems we have that won't be solved until 99.999% of the population die at armageddon:.
here's the cover with the text editted out to help you in your captioning quest:.
LOL@ this thread!
What's interesting is that is a picture of Faye Dunaway made up to look like Joan Crawford.
Edited to add: "No wire hangers, EVER!"
