go out witnessing and have such a really bad day - doors slamming in your face, sun pounding down, elder and wife perfect have placed 100 mags in the last half hour while your struggling to shove a tract under the door of not at home after not at home and you're standing at a door with the most obnoxious, smallminded half-wit, who won't let you get a word in edge-wise - that you just loose yer cool and go off, i mean really go off?.
i'm curious cause apparantly alot of witnesses used to do this and that's why you now have to 'qualify' to become an unbaptized publisher!.

Yeah I've had those 'bad hair' days...many times. Lots of negative things would happen all in one day...I used to ask myself why I kept doing it. Answer was....because I HAD to. Can't honestly say I loved it...although I did enjoy the fellowship...and I think that was the only thing keeping me in for many years...it sure wasn't my faith.

today i was in the main office of my apartment complex.
when i was walking out i stopped one of the workers and told him that i had lived here for over a year and never once saw a jw.
i jokingly asked if they had some kind of strategy they used to keep them away.

Mine is "To Kill A Mockingbird"...probably not everyone's cup of tea, but I could just 'bite' Gregory Peck at the best of times...and I loved the way he portrayed the character Atticus Finch. As in most cases I loved the book more the movie.

i just thought i'd put this to the multitude and invite your suggestions or some feedback, as i am thinking about forming a support group for ex jw people in my area.
my motive is based on my own experience when exiting the borg...and how isolated and lonely i felt when i left.
i was lucky enough to have one family member who had left the borg a few years before me.
Hey Chezza...thanks so much for that nice post. It made my day to be honest...and I haven't been feeling very positive lately. To tell you the truth, it was because we managed to meet and become friends that I got the idea. I just thought it would be good for others like us...don't u think?? Anyways...thanks again girl.
Btw ...I'm doing a bit of reading at the moment...will keep you informed and hopefully we can sit down and generate some ideas.

Yes I think you are right...different groups are formed for different purposes...whether it is just for socialising or for healing...or religious/scriptural discussions etc. All I can offer is my shoulder...and my ears....I can't offer much more because I don't have the personal experience or the psychological wisdom to back it up.
