Yes, please pray. I just bought a house two months ago and this is the second hurricane hitting us. I can't get any plywood. People are nuts around here. I am so scared I am going to lose everything.

Thanks NeonMadman and everyone else. I actually saw that tiny bit of an article. I came across my boyfriend's mom's magazines over the summer and read it. I immediately joked around that he could celebrate some stuff with me, but he just chuckled and that was it. I didn't want to get into an argument.

i found out from a mutual friend of ours, two months after my boyfriend and i had met, that he was a jw.

A few of the wonderful people who responded to me actually shared some of their experiences growing up as a child in a home with one parent who is a JW and one who isn't. I think this type of information will be extremely helpful when talking with my boyfriend about our future. I am concerned about our future children and would like him to see that my concerns are real. He has a parent who is JW and one who is not, however, they divorced when he was very young and he was raised by the parent who is a JW. I would appreciate any experiences you are willing to share. Thank you again for all of your kindness.

You provided me with the type of information I am truly seeking.You also provided me with solid literature I can use when talking with my boyfriend. Thank you. You have truly helped me.

On the other hand, XQTP you are now being quite offensive to me. To continue to insist that this man would not want me for any other reasons than one- providing him with sex and two- that I am not a JW is extremely insulting. I came on here to understand what I was getting myself into and more importantly understand the type of life I may be exposing my future children to. I am not a weak minded, easy woman. I wouldn't be wasting my time with such concern if I had the slightest thought this was a purely sexual and thrill seeking relationship for him. Trust me, I have put him through a lot over his faith and other "typical" relationship issues. There are many non JW women who would be happy to provide him with sex and thrills. He an exceptionally good looking man.Yet he chooses to be with me, out of love. Everyone has been very helpful and kind. However XQTP, I am offended that you can't seem to get past your opinion that I am just a cheap thrill for him. Thank you for taking your time to try and help me. I am sure deep down, you mean well.

Do you love to dance?

i love weddings cause, "love is in the air", and you can ask any woman to dance and not get shut down.

when i went to vegas and we hit all the night clubs you could see all the couples sitting there around the dance floor, the women bobbing up and down off their seats and their guys sunk down with their butts glued to the chair.

even though i am not the best dancer, being one of those men willing to "shake that thing" i had a great time.

I love dancing. I have video (8 mm wow I feel old) of me dancing at my 3rd Birthday party. I haven't stopped since. I wanted to be a professional dancer, but got an academic scholarship and focused on a "real"job. What a mistake! I still dance whenever I can- socially and classes. I also teach dance.

Hip Hop and R & B is the best! Haven't met many men who dance, but I'll tell you guys out ther- I am impressed right away if they at least try. I can't stand a man who won't dance with me.

Thank you Lady Lee. I appreciate you looking out for me. I know he has mentioned on several occasions he doesn't believe in spanking/hitting children, and made some very nasty comments about those who do. Thank God he can see clearly on that one.

Those pictures are amazing. I am in Florida and it will be summer here for quite a while. I love it up north, especially the New England area. Thanks for posting all those great photos. We were just hit by the hurricane, so we are lacking a bit on the beautiful scenery.

Question - Daughter

if your 31 year old daughter that lives in your house locked the door to her bedroom with her boy friend inside what would you do???

this same guy is the father of her son, and pays no child support ......and rarely visits.......... is she too old to scold????

would you knock on the door??

Although I got on here for help for myself, this topic caught my attention. I am amazed that your daughter who is 31 and has a college degree is not only living with you, but totally disrespecting your home. I am 30, single, and have lived on my own for 10 years now. I won't even live with a man in my own house b/c it would go against everything my father believes and would be so upsetting to him. My sister is 20 and lives at home with my parents. She isn't working or helping out with the bills and this angers me daily. If she were bringing her boyfriend in the house and having sex with him, I would go over there and kick her out myself. I am not sure if you daughter is helping with expenses, but even if she is, she should follow your rules and be adult enough to respect them.

I know you love your daughter and want to help her, but like I tell my parents- allowing them to do whatever they want isn't really helping them. In my opinion, you are allowing her to disrespect you by allowing her to live in the house and not follow your rules. Why would she change? This is a question I ask my parents everyday. I love my sister, but she darn well better respect my parents.

I guess I didn't really help, but I just want you to know you that someone your daughter's age believes wholeheartedly that you deserve to be respected. I hope you do have that talk with her and things work out for the best.
