Mrs Kwin claims that when she lights a candle beside the cutting board when she's chopping onions that her eyes don't burn. I don't believe it, and it doesn't work for me, she does believe it, and it works for her.
I think the two things are quite similar. Belief in something is a strong force.

i work with about 30 guys who fail to realize that one can actually hold a conversation without swear words and still make sense.
it doesn't happen that way.
the words they use frequently make the f-word look like a polished piece of vocabulary.. now, about 4 months ago, the son of a jw family in good standing applied for a job there.
I'd suggest hiring him. He has as much right to work there as anyone else. I would imagine that his brother would have let him know what type of environment the workplace is, and if not, he'll find out soon enough and make his on decision regarding working there or not.
If he finds it undesirable to stay there, he could transfer to the girly section (if/when a position comes up), or leave. But it's up to him.

With armageddon so close, what was the point of that? Did you sell your house to serve where the need is greater? Really though, I hope for a smooth, stress-free;transaction. In the meanwhile I have a family to take care of not only Spiritually but physically as well and that takes MONEY! No, I did not sell it to go where the need is greater, there is a GREAT need at the one I am leaving now.
You know what I'm getting at. I'm glad you and your family are taking the position you are, yet that so many have failed to take at the advice of the WTS. It'll help keep my taxes down! No, really it's sad when I look at the old folks in my previous halls who gave their lives to the WTS, and now can't take care of themselves financially. They're stuck in small apartments, and if the price of tea goes up, they're in trouble because the money for that has to come from somewhere else. I can't help but feel bad for them.

i happened to take one of the best photos i've ever seen of my mom: relaxed and confident, smiling with eyes twinkling, enjoying the beautiful day.

Don't count out the will to live though. My wife's grandfather was told he had days to live, and he died 9 years later. I hope your mom can keep her spirits up.
