  "Jehovah saves groups not individuals"

  this is what my dad told me .

  i mentioned how i didn't want to attend a congregation where people were claiming to do good works in the name of god and knowing that they were doing opposite.

  he says " well, when the last days come.. when ever that is... jehovah saves groups not individuals" well what we're in the wrong group dad?

  I wonder what group Job was in, and why the heck they put a whole chapter in the bible about him independantly being faithful to God? Must have been a misprint.

  i had posted a few times since my awakening asking how best to talk to my wife about my new take on things.

  i was very afraid of handilng it poorly and chasing her deeper into the organization.

  instead, she basically said, 'i've been feeling the same way!

  Wow. Has it only been a year? It's good to bring threads like this back up to remind people that there is hope for their "faithful" JW family. Just a month or two before my wife stopped going to the KH, she was ratting me out to the elders for looking at "apostate" websites and reading "apostate" books.

  The inner conflict got to her in the end though, and she got tired of playing the JW game.

  Are artist's faces copyrighted?

  this might seem like a strange question...but if anyone's familiar with the concept of copyrights.... i am thinking of making an illustrated book including quotes from various inspirational music and movie artists complete with artistic portraits of the artists (that are not copied from photographs...) and i was wondering if i could get sued over something like that...

  I think that as long as you don't use a complete unaltered photo, you will be ok. For what you're doing, sounds like "fair dealing" ("fair use" in the US) laws would apply, which would permit you to use portions of someone's work as long as they are given credit for the parts you use.

  Can you help us????

  my wife and i have bee disassociated now for 10 months.however, we are both struggling psychologically.

  we both have no self worth and are on medication for depression.it kills us that at our age we no longer have any friends.our daughter will soon need open heart surgery and we feel we have no one to support us.

  we have to see witnesses every day at the school where they shun us.

  I think that counselling is a very good idea. Have you though of joining some sort of club or something like that to meet people?

  I made the elders look like asses in front of the whole congregation. Right now I think that they don't want to look worse, so they haven't contacted me, or bugged me at all.

  i realize this is totally context and culturally dependent, but the old toronto jw youth scene was quite wild during the years 1984-1994. .

  one example, a group of about 40 jw kids would go up to a ski resort (usually mount st.louis/moonstone or blue mountain) over the x-mas week-end.

  one year we rented out a block of rooms in a resort close to the ski lodge.

  We had one out in the middle of nowhere. About 200 kids showed up, no "chaparones". The next week was our circuit assembly and the CO talked about it in his "special needs" talk.
