I ask this question because I want to know if the
"belief" of atheism leaves open the possibility of
a Creator or Designer. Not neccessarily the one paint-
ed up by religion.

I must say that even Richard Dawkins has stated that if provided with hard evidence of God's exsistance he would believe in him. I'd be happy with a burning bush talking to me or Lake Ontario parting in two the next time I'm late to an appointment in Toronto (that'd be a great short cut). But then maybe there's a reason stuff like that stopped happening 3500 years ago (like it didn't happen).

If I told you that I had a garden, and the garden grew because several invisible leprechauns came daily and maintained the garden but didn't leave any evidence that they were ever there, like footprints or the odd tool, and it was only because of them that the garden grew and thrived ... you'd think I was crazy. The burden of proof would be on me to prove to you that this was so, not the other way around. Why should I give god a free ride and just believe in him when there is no evidence left behind that he made the earth. The burden of proof is on believers to provide evidence of his exsistance. So far, science has done nothing but the opposite.

the evidence, the logic, and the compelling arguments are simply too much for fundamentalists, so please protect your mind and faith from this video at all costs if you're a fundamentalist.

mr c always said he's dump me if i had a tattoo, well we're not together anymore so i can and i am!

I plan on getting one shortly. I have the design idea, I just have to get around to getting it done. There's some good tips on here. Thanks Rich and others.

PS I just finished the Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster and I must say I was somewhat unimpressed. Bobby Henderson may be a prophet, but the FSM can't write worth a plate of rice.

i do not attend the same hall as my boyfriend because he is currently reproved for being involved with me.

i'm not a witness.

he confessed to his elders that he had sex with someone outside of marriage after his second divorce was already final.

I'd say you're screwed, but if he's going to leave you because you didn't lie and were honest (which is more then he can say) then I'd bet you're better off without him. Do you really want to be ex-wife #3 anyway?

Leave it up to a JW to make a comment like "Ex-wife #2 will be free to remarry anyway."

I'm Attending the Memorial

my lovely girlfriend and i sat down over a homecooked meal, and discussed the pros and cons of attending the memorial.. i decided, with her support, that we would attend.. i spent years of my life pretending to be a witness to please my mother.

when i left the witnesses, my mother said some hurtful things.. and those things really hurt me... for a while.

but i established myself as my own person, developed my own relationships, and have gotten a good start on my own life.. i don't know that i want to hurt my mother back, but i do want to make it abundantly clear to her, my grandmother, and all the members of my former congregation, that richierich is alive and kicking.. and i think that walking into the kingdom hall, dressed respectfully in a suit, yet with full piercing jewelry intact, and with erika wearing something classy that steals the brother's eyes, and draws glares from the humble sisters, will be just the thing to send that message to my mother.. i don't plan on partaking or making a disturbance.

Would your going make people say, "See, he still believes." That's the only thing that would hold me back if I was in your situation, but whatever you have to do to make your statement ... go for it!
