I agree with ya. Hadn't thought about it all that much but that is pretty interesting and amazing..and no..it cannot be accounted for by "evolution." When I hear someone say that we were created by evolution...I think...well where did anything at all come from...where did space come from and where did time come from? And where did the water come from to create the oceans?? That has to be the biggest factor that makes me believe in God.

brummie's thread about "unwritten prophecies" made me think more broadly about unwritten stuff among jws.
this one is not a prophecy, sounds more like a "urban legend".. there were stories circulating among french jws in the 70's about people suffering of some unexplained illness, until strange demonic "artworks" were discovered in the feathers of their pillows.
some were almost dying as the "work" was almost completed.
I haven't been on this forum long enough to understand the thing with the smurfs, but it makes me laugh to think about it..it just sounds silly!
My JW friend scared me enough one night into throwing away all my horror movies like Children of the Corn..(I'm glad I threw that one away though) and Mothmen Prophecies and stuff. They have some stories in the congregations that can scare the crap out of anyone who is gullable enough to beleive them, or just easily scared. I was both lol
That feather thing is one of the weirdest things I've ever heard....GEEZ...now I'm gonna be scared of my pillows. lol

I know the Witnesses are totally excited that Prince is a JW now...this summer I was going to all the meetings and staying with a friend in Memphis and she was all bummed out she missed Prince's concert at the Pyramid in Memphis. But one of her Witness friends went and the friend's daughter, a witness, went up and talked with (I think a drummer of Prince's) at the concert with some other witness friends and he said "are you my brothers and sisters?" and gave them all a hug.
I wonder how much publicity it will cause when they all realize it's a cult?? Maybe they'll end up on CNN or on the Montel show and expose it!!!

i have a son aged 19. he's a bit of a handsome devil at the best of times and the young ladies have always been ... how can i put it nicely.... fond of him.
but having said that he's always very friendly with everyone.
we used to go to a congregation a few miles from where we live now when he was a tiny child and he was friendly with the kids there.
I would just give her some helpful information, "apostate" material or not, and let her choose whatever she wants to do. She could choose to listen to the information or not, but if she wonders whether she is in the truth or not, she deserves to know the truth about the "truth."

another post brought this memory back to me.
it's a really stupid situation which resulted in my mother ceasing communication with the next door neighbour.
i believe it happened when i was in grade one.. my mother was supposed to meet me at my elementary school.
Was ur mom a JW at the time? Was it because she didn't want you associating with non-JW's?
