to me, jehovah's witnesses are the watchtower society.
i don't think you can seperate the 2. they are both inseperably joined, infact the wt defines how jws believe.
many here say they don't "hate" jws individually, just the society, ie the wt.. where in your personal opinion is the distinction drawn??
Watchtower, definitely. The dubs are just misled. They bear 10-20% guilt for their decisions, but the rest I believe goes to Brooklyn's account.
If Brooklyn issued an edict saying that DF'd ones were not to be shunned anymore, how many JW's would still do it? Darn few, I bet.

It would seem that if dead people could visit living people, it would happen all the time. Your dead relatives would come over to visit, and bring their dead relatives with them, who would of course bring theirs along. Granted, it would get crowded, but they're spirits, so it's all good, right?
The fact that it only happens once in a blue moon to one person out of a million says something's amiss.
Not saying it doesn't happen, just that I don't understand it.

or i used to love the husband and wife duos that thought they were all that as they sat and tried to harmonize.
In my old hick congregation, everybody but me was like 85 years old. They were all deaf, and couldn't begin to keep up with one another. It was very comical!

The very first meeting I ever attended, an old guy sitting behind me leaned forward and said, "You have the privilege of sitting in front of the best singer in the congregation," then he smiled. I always liked him after that, and of course, he sung terribly. He "fell away" and later died. I wonder now if he actually learned the truth about the "truth".
A guy in my old Hall had a habit of mucking around with the syllables. He'd drag one syllable out for a coupla notes, then squeeze two into the next one. If he was a soloist, it woulda sounded pretty neat. But since he wasn't, it messed me up if I could hear him!

we had a phone call yesterday, after being "inactive" for 6 years.
not having attended a meeting in 4 years, we get a call saying they are concerned that they had heard we believe in evolution.
my partner said "not necesarily believe in it, im just not discounting it at this time.

Did they do another flip-flop on the "generation" teaching while I wasn't looking, or is she just not up to date on the current teachings of the Faithful slave? The "generation" baloney was abandoned in 1995, as I recall.
Gina and I were just talking about this "god's channel"/"imperfect men" dual-personality thing that the Watchtower has going on. It's perfect. Obey everything we say, 'cause we're God's channel, but allow us to make mistakes and correct ourselves, 'cause Hey, we're only human.
Of course, the doctrines of the 'tower can be shot down from their own Bible, so even the "examine their teachings" bit doesn't hold water.
I got the same line from my father-in-law. You can put information in front of people, but you can't open their eyes.

i was thinking about printing up sheets of self adhesive labels to carry for when i see a wt or wake in some public place something small like a 1.25x 2.75 avery address label i could carry three folded back to back in my wallet and they would take up about the same as a business card then when i see wbts publications i could "witness" to the unsuspecting public... .
i was thinking something like this group shields child molesters and lies about their beliefs check it out at www.jehovahs-witnesses.com or silent lambs.... anyway i was looking for some ideas.
it needs to be hard hitting but short just one or two sentences with a web address or two max... maybe even two or three different labels one on child abuse one on blood one on bullshit prophecy (maybe with a reference to deut 18:22) maybe we could work up some sheets in a word document and post it where it will always be easily accessable and everyone could do it!.
If you can place the sticker so as to seal the mag shut, so much the better...

Well, Gina's off. Her mom and dad will be waiting to talk with her. I wasn't invited, but couldn't have left anyway. (I work from home. ["work" is a relative term. Let us say that I'm paid at home and leave it at that.])
