  i've recently begun challenging my beliefs.

  all my beliefs, including those ingrained in me as one raised "in the truth".. a few years ago i sought therapy for chronic depression and my treatment was remarkably successful.

  as a side effect, things that used to "work" for me no longer fit with the new emotional pathways and strengths i was developing.

  Gratitude for shunning?

  we have all seen the negatine aspects of the jw's shunning da/df people.

  i have experienced the hardship emotionally of being cut off from friends and family that are still in the organization.

  i do not minimize how much this hurts.. but .

  Hi,

  We have all seen the negatine aspects of the JW's shunning DA/DF people. I have experienced the hardship emotionally of being cut off from friends and family that are still in the organization. I do not minimize how much this hurts.

  But . . .

  This also has been a positive in some aspects. I have an older sister and BIL that are "Grade A 100% FDA Certified Ring Muscle." I NEVER have to have anything to do with them - ever again! I do not have to feel guilty for not inviting them to something - because they are just imperfect brothers and sisters. I have cut them off like a wart on my a$$.

  And all of the inane elders that caused me so much pain and suffering over the years are history forever! It doesn't make up for all of the losses, but it takes some of the sting out of it.

  Just a thought about how you can find gratitude in bad things.

  also known as sicilian branchiero, sicilianos branchiero, cane di macellaio, cane corso italiano, italian corso dog.. i met a pair of them just last week and they were wonderfully behaved and anxious to be loved.

  Hi, recently widowed need conversation

  i'm recently widowed, 7mos, suddenly lost husband from heart attack, married 29yrs, have been inactive for around 5yrs and don't plan on going back to jw.. we were very close and i miss the daily interaction and conversation.

  my daughter, 25, lives with me but it's not the same.

  Thank you all for your responses to my post. I was having a real bad night, and hanging out on JWD with you guys really helped.

  I have scheduled an appointment with my doctor tomorrow to discuss my depression, and see what he thinks. I will try the poor me - give me samples tactic. And on the job front, I heard back from two of my resumes today, so things are looking up. I had a freaking 4.0 GPA, it shouldn't be this hard to get a job!

  I left a message for my GF to see if we could talk tomorrow night, I'll keep yo updated on what happens.
