Great news, the chariot is on the move. I am looking forward to reading reports from all that were there. I hope we do not have to wait for a big long report that takes a lot of time. Send it, in bits and dribbles, I don't care.
Erica and all others in similar circumstances, I am happy for you.
One last note, I thought the spelling is Ritzville, lets not spell the name of the host town wrong. I may be wrong.

Russell as "That Servant"; Re: Dunsscot
by AlanF insince dunsscot claims he's leaving this board, and in answer to my specific request for a committment to answer all replies i might give to his latest replies to my previous dissections of his nonsense he said that he would not, i won't be giving a detailed reply to him.. however, dunsscot's posts contain a number of statements that prove how easily the watchtower society fools the jw community by lying to it, either outright or in so many words.. in this post we will examine a fiction that the society has managed to get poor people like dunsscot to believe with respect to c. t. russell, namely, that russell never claimed that he was "the faithful and wise servant" of matthew 24:45. the simple truth is that russell did indeed believe it.
the fact that he did was printed in the watch tower, and the society itself taught it until about 1927.. let's first look at the context of dunsscot's denial of this important bible student teaching.
in the set of exchanges below, the reader can see that dunsscot is attempting to deny that jw leaders claim to be god's exclusive earthy spokesmen.

Done Scutt
I think you been DONE SCUTTLED, but then I may be prejudiced. I have an intense aversion to Latin, ever since I had to use a French Bible, The Cardinal Lienart Bible, while thumpin’ the Catholics over in Quebec. To get them even to look in a Bible, it had to be one that had the Catholic , Imprimateur, on it , For us illiterate ones, it means it had to be an approved Catholic version. Now the good Cardinal, just lifted all the Latin words from the Vulgate manuscript, frenchified them and incorporated them in the Bible. It was so difficult to understand, and very few could. Except learned and gifted people like your self.
So I am prejudiced against Latin words and those who obfuscate (“make something obscure” for the peasants present) ‘THAT WHICH IS SO’ namely, TRUTH ,with long unintelligent Latinisms.
I could only wade through about one or two pages of this thread, may be if I can get vacation for a few days I could make it through to the end. As of now , i,m.u.o. [in my unlearned opinion] Alan F is in the ring waiting for you to come back in and meet his arguments . You have snuck out through the ropes , put on your Roman toga, and hurling loud lengthy Latin crap in an effort to counter his facts.
So AF, for me, has won, but then I am speaking with bias.
So I will suggest we call for an outside opinion. How about we make a collective effort to find out who you are, find out where you went to school, find out your Latin , philosophical peers and present this wonderful example of your erudition to them for appraisal. Also, I have a nephew, who was invited to US on a scholarship who has degrees in both philosophy and mathematics and several other letters after his name. I will get his opinion too.
So I will give anyone out there a case of beer for any information leading to the arrestation of Done SCutts drivel.
One other Latin word: PROPAGANDA
Propaganda, dissemination of ideas and information for the purpose of inducing or intensifying specific attitudes and actions.
and: PROPAGANDA FIDES, propaganda for the faith, (Catholic) where the word originated.belbab, anglicizing the truth.

Interesting accidental circumstances
by Kent ininteresting accidental circumstances .
have anybody but me been wondering why so many people and new posters pop up from nowhere the last weeks, attacking all and everyone?
i find this interesting; since its obvious the attackers do have a special agenda.

Hello Kent,
I been following what's been going on. Like yappin' little terriers, snapping and barking and harassing a big German shepherd, finally, the big dog, exasperated, grabs one of the little boogers by the head and shakes the shit out of it and then flings it aside.Let me tell you a little true story, as objective as I can make it.
Back in late fifties, there was number of court cases in Quebec City agains Duplessis and Bill 38 etc. Duplessis himself was on the stand for three hours. Covington was there, running the show, but he could only direct Glen How and another French speaking Jewish lawyer who was favorable to the Witnesses. Fred Franz was also there, to testify. At one point he was speaking quietly, leading his testimony along, when he concluded his argument in a loud voice with, "That is why the Roman Catholic Church is a WHORE"!
I was congregation servant in Quebec City at that time and I ran a lot of errands for the WT team and was privy to a lot of things going on in the background. One of the opposing lawyers had a reputation for having a very hot temper, which was known to be detrimental to his case at times. The WT policy was to harass the shit out of him for a couple of days, innuendos against his professional conduct etc. At one time he got so mad he had to excuse himself from the courtroom, walked out with his face and neck all red with anger, and go out and cool off for fifteen minutes or so. THIS WAS DELIBERATE STRATEGY FROM THE WT LAWYERS! Finally this opposition lawyer, laid it down in no uncertain terms and demanded before the judge that if the WT lawyers, had any more complaints about his conduct then they should write a legal complaint to the bar association. After this the harassment ceased.
Do you think that that the WT stategists, with their trolls planted on this board , would do any different to create anger, infighting, slander, foul language or any other number of ways to negate the powerful message being trumpeted here?

Watchtower Stock Gamblers?
by ros init was recently pointed out in another thread, the business mode of certain organizations to persuade people who have accrued a substantial estate to turn their holdings over to the organization in return for which the organization agrees to support them with a certain agreed income for the remainder of their life.
the advantage for the organization comes with investing the money in stock or bond funds for an anticipated higher return than they expect to pay to the invester/doner, as well as getting the whole thing after the investor dies without any inheritance penalty.
(is this a fair statement of the issue?).

Patriot, thanks for the info input.
I believe the book/booklet you are referring to is on the web at "Watchtower Observer" at:
http://watchtower.observer.org/
Go to the site, go to menu at left, scroll down to "JWs and money" (small letters search carefully} go to second page link at bottom of first page, scroll down on second page almost to bottom to subject, WATCHTOWER AS BEGGARS. There you will find all 32 pages of the booklet, photocopied, with colored pictures, its all there!
If you wish to read additional comments on this booklet, go to ROS'
origial post on this subject with topic title: ...w-w.. in the center of the title, I forget the full name.I like the quote you use at the bottom of your post? Do you know where it came from. Do you know, the persons, famous and favorite of many in the twentieth century you proclaimed far and wide that TRUTH IS A PATHLESS LAND? E-mail me if you are interested in knowing.

ROS every thing in bold, bold bold.
YOU'RE RIGHT ON THE MONEY, HONEY! YOU'RE ON A ROLL! SEVEN COME ELEVEN!
(QUOTE)
In case of the JWs, an added incentive is the premise that they are in effect making Jehovah God their heir. What a privilege! Not to mention that: 1) no doubt the time is so short that it will not significantly deprive their children or other heirs; 2) a little added faithfulness for surviving Armageddon, which may be expected to occur before the doners would even die; or at least give some added confidence of being resurrected in the new world if they should happen to pass on a little before the end.Whoopee! MARTIN LUTHER I: What was the condemnation he had against the Catholic Church, that changed the whole face of Christendom in his day, and set in motion the reformation and Protestant movement?
THE SALE OF INDULGENCES! Like mother like daughter, the above quote shows that the Christ Cong, King Kong is wearing the same dress. STRIP HER NAKED AND EXPOSE HER SHAME!
When I posted, messages about this topic on H20 and on this board, under your ---WOW !!!---post, and after somethings turned sour, Farkel hitting the F U key on his computer etc. The question went through my mind, "Is this subject turning the spotlight on a useless and unloving subject?" Then the question arose in my mind, "What was the one of the first things Jesus accomplished in his ministry?"
HE THREW THE MONEY CHANGERS OUT OF THE TEMPLE!
It is not a question here in this thread whether it is right or wrong to PLAY the stock market. The ERROR Is, in Jesus' words, "IT IS WRITTEN, 'MY HOUSE WILL BE CALLED A HOUSE OF PRAYER,' BUT YOU ARE MAKING IT A CAVE OF ROBBERS."

Blondie,
You forgot the after dinner mint. After the announcement, while sitting around with others toasting the supreme effort the elders went through, you drop the comment that it must have been for fornicating or homosexuality or whatever fits the best and then you set the rumor mill in motion. Belbab

Hello All,
In an old song of Bob Dylan’s there were some words that went like this something like this: ‘don’t look to the light of the neon signs, check the parking meters.’ In other words, don’t assume that a bunch of thirty wheeler trucks at a truck stop means it is a good eating place, you may want check out the cut of the blouse of the waitress serving the grease burgers.Lets consider some WT real estate signs,
I have read thoroughly the WT Donations 32 page booklet in its entirety posted on Watchtower Observer under subject WT beggars (or is it buggers) and what is one word for my reaction? WOWWW---EEE!!! MY KINDA PEOPLE!!, What am I doing on this board.? Who wrote this booklet, those shyster telemarketer orgs based in Montreal that bilk millions from affluent American retirees?
You do not have to even read the booklet. Just look at the pictures. Happy, smiling faces of healthy looking couples in spacious environs, no kingdom hall basement suites here, who needs paradise down the road.? looks like it’s here right now. They all got nice sun tans, acquired or home grown, all well dressed, few. neck ties , I forgot to check out cleavage high water mark and crotch bulges. These people definitely look like they are living forever now. No pictures of barefoot publishers in India.
OK. Read the printing . Follow the big fat arrow that goes down to a fancy architecturally designed building. Is that the old folks home for old worn out Bethelites, like Dunlop, or district servants like Laurier Saumur ? Or is it a kingdom hall in India? Does anyone know where this building is? When you follow the arrow read the print. How many times in the booklet does it say, “proceeds or remainder paid to the Watchtower Society of Pennsylvania......” I know, you are going to say it’s all legal, but make sure you realize who is paying for the expansion of the WT. The tax payers of the United States and all other countries that are sending money to the World Wide Work fund.
Another point, when you look at the pictures under life insurance topic. The pictures of the insured ones look like they need bypass surgery, they are a tad on the overweight scale and puffed up a little in the face, sure sign of heart problems. Better hurry up and get that insurance fellows, and make sure you follow the big fat arrow.
OK. Maybe, maybe, the WT is not in a cash flow bind right now, but the Bible says that the waters that flow into Babylon will be dried up. My contention is that they have already started to dry up. I will be right up front with this. When I was a kid , in the dirty thirties we played with whatever was available. One time me and my brothers damned up a drainage ditch alongside the road in rainy season and the highways department raised hell. I still like damming up waters, that is the aim of these posts.
My wife says: Keep it Short and Simple, stupid. belbab

How do you get disassociated?
Well if you are a little kid and you go to the meetings and some one picks you up and hauls you to the shitter and rapes you, and you find the event so traumatic you disassociate yourself from memories of the event, but they lurk in your unconcious for the rest of your life, and influences your outlook and you don't even know why you have that outlook.
Oh, sorry, am I on the right thread?

Individuals wife,
You have it right friend. Remember whenthey used to quote Russell all the time that the Watchtower magazine would be published with out collecting money. A few years ago, they never published a 32 page booklet requesting donations. If you have an extra copy of that booklet I would like to get a copy. Could you e-mail me if you wish. Also have you read Ros's post on the board here, should be on page two or three by now, you will find it veeeeerrrrryyyy interesting. It starts with the word WOW or something similar.
