i've written about this before but recent events bring it up again.. is the watchtower attempting to 'decouple' the identity of the 'faithful and discreet'.

basically, this would mean that whoever is in charge is collectively the 'faithful'.

Your comment about Loesch reminds me of the talk that Fred Franz gave at a I think a Gilead graduation where he gave a convulted talk about the slave when the change went from individuals like Knorr and himself losing control to a governing body. I believe it is documented in Raymond Franz book or elsewhere. It would be good to bring it up here and compare the similarities. It seem the Gilead graduation is a good place for dissenting opinions to be presented.

anyways, i was a teenager in eastern canada, new brunswick to be specific.
it was late 1976/77 that i attended meetings.

if one day the government would put an end to jw meetings, how do you think the watchtower would get organized to keep meetings going?
they told us that meetings would be held in houses or in secret places.
i dont know of any house big enough to accommodate 80+ people.
In the Isaiah book there is a picture of a man, leading the way of course, climbing the stairs to go into their interior rooms. Behind him is a woman carrying a baby, ( she has to be pictured carrying a baby other wise it would look like they were going for a romp in clandestine activity.)
Now the text says in the book, that the interior rooms are the congregations. Now you know why KHs don't have windows.

with all the trouble around the world, do you think that one day we will hear "peace and security".
we heard this so often when we were in the jw's, but no one knew how it could happen.
i don't see any peace in the horizon.
I tend to agree with Jos Malik's post. Back around 911 Ciro Aucilino gave a talk and mentioned Peace and Security. I wrote an open letter to him at:

It is not the nations calling for Peace and Security. It is any so called group or individual who claims they got it made, that they have their position secure and in God's favor.
The scriptures say Let him who think he stands, take heed, lest he fall.

the february 8, 2003 awake has an article entitled:"is there an unforgivable sin".notice the good news for apostates or those who once associated.
"some people who were once faithful christians have purposely drawn away from god, perhaps because of bitterness, pride, or greed, and are now apostate fighters against god's spirit.
they willfully oppose what the spirit is clearly accomplishing.
My sins are so secret I don't even know what they are myself.

my wife and i are starting to look into moving out of the u.s. we are looking at both canada and australia but are leaning to canada.
keep in mind we are just starting to do research so we haven't delved too far in to the politics or locations in canada.
does anyone have any location suggestions?
My wife and I live on Vancouver Island. There are many good reasons to live here. The weather is quite mild year round, rarely see snow and if it does come it doesn't stay on the ground all winter. There is plenty of work in the health care field. Many doctors and nurses etc. retiring. and many elder people retire here.
