  Only bad things in ancient birthdays?

  the fds argue about the murders in connection with the only two birthday parties mentioned in the bible.. the cup bearer was released at pharaoh's birthday.

  by that incident joseph could be freed and next; millions of people included the israelite were saved from famine.

  one man was killed, but millions were saved..

  There is another pooping incident in the Bible.

  King Saul and his party were out on a manhunt looking for the outlaw, David. Saul has to take a crap and enters a cave where David was hiding. David sneaks up and cuts off a piece of Saul's cloak. Later David hollers from a distance to Saul, basically saying I could have killed you, but I didn't.

  So, we have two unsavoury pooping inccidents in the Bible, hence JWs should look at pooping as a necessary evil, but one is forbidden to get any enjoyment from the activity.

  the watchtower has been known for over 130 years as a great scriptural cherry-picker.

  they pick out disparate unrelated verses and combine them to support the wackiest of wacky doctrines.. on the other hand there are many scriptures they almost never address, whether because they contradict wt doctrine or because they simply don't have a clue what they mean or how to spin them to the wt advantage.. one of these is revelation 19:1 that mentions a "great crowd" "in heaven.

  " the only time it is ever brought up it is dismissed.

  Isaiah 26:9

  For when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.

  What does the fading disagreed slave teach in the books about Isaiah's prophecies? When the judgements of God come upon the evil doers, it is not the evil doers that learn what is right, it is the faithful and discreet slave that learn what God's righteous ness is.

  In Quebec most curse words are against the Catholic church, Shamus has picked up a couple of the most common ones. Cawliss comes from Chalice, the cup the wine is sipped from and Tabernac is from the word tabernacle.

  Around four or five decades ago, big companies, were moving out of Brooklyn and establishing their industries out in country where taxes and property were a lot cheaper. One building I remember that the WT purchased was the Squibb building. It was published what a wonderful manoever that Jah was making to provide expansion possibilities for the Watchtower work by having companies establishing themselves elsewhere.

  The Watchtower wanted to put printing presses in one of the building that they purchased. The building was not structurally sound enough to carry printing presses. Too bad Jah couldn't forsee that.

  Now they are boasting how Jah is directing them to get out of Brooklyn and out in the boonies.

  Surprising how slow Big Jah is getting out of the starting gate.

  How old does a quote have to be before they can throw it out?

  i was talking with a witness the other day (mistake number 1) and i brought up a quote from the 80's.

  the friggin 1980's and he said "that was old light we don't believe that anymore...".

  i mean at what point can they start throwing out these quotes?

  Raising Chickens!

  i had another great idea the other day; raise chickens!

  in this rapidly changing recessionary world, i cast my mind back to stories of the depression.

  farmers fared better than urban dwellers.

  We had some free range chickens when our son was going to elementary school. He had a project at school where the students had to design a method to drop an egg from the second story window to the ground without breaking. Some tried parachutes, gliders etc. and did not succeed. I told my son to make a box out of styrofoam with a niche for an egg inside. I knew that our free range eggs had a very tough shell, very hard to crack open. He won the contest, the egg didn't break.

  As far as eating our eggs they had a dark orange yoke and thick whites. They tasted far better than watery battery poduced eggs under artifical continuous lighting and feeding.

  JW Tall Tales

  recently i was cleaning my bookcase and found an old book that i enjoyed as a child.

  it had stories in it such as paul bunyan, pecos bill, and john henry.

  while these stories are fictional, i enjoyed them because they were entertaining, and easy to understand.. fast forward to the late 70's when i was a teenager sitting at the ca hall in janesville wisconsin.. the speaker was explaining the great sacrifice god made in sending his son down to earth to die for all mankind.

  When I first came in contact with JWs, I was working in a construction camp in mountainous country where there were some Jaydubs. One old witness who was from the prairies said won't it be so wonderful in the New World after God levels of all these mountains. I love the mountains.
