Didn't use the Chivas in the marinade, I went strictly by the directions from the nice lady at the seafood counter at Kroger.
Broiled and blackened in Italian dressing and garlic salt.
Next time I'm thinking Crown Royal. Maybe some Bombay Gin.

long guns were acceptable, provided they were traditional hunting rifles since that was the only purpose one could have a gun for.
Um, logical, I think they'd frown on a lightsabre as much as a blaster.
I'll stick with my .45, thank you. At least I won't lose an arm, leg, or pecker by just pointing it in the wrong place.

I'm curious to know The Empire's current stance on gun ownership. When I was in, my stepdad told me what The Society said dubs could and couldn't have as far as guns. Long guns were acceptable, provided they were traditional hunting rifles since that was the only purpose one could have a gun for. And shotguns for bird hunting were also ok. Handguns were [in my understanding] a basis for disfellowshipping, since they are only for killing people. (HUH?!)
My stepdad eventually sold his bolt-action .22 and his double-barrel shotgun, so as not to stumble anyone and he didn't hunt anyway.
(funny story: for a while, he had a bb gun for me that looked an awful lot like an M-1 carbine. An elder saw it one day and totally freaked. He said "WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH A MACHINE GUN?!"
Dad quickly showed him it was just a bb gun. Funny that an elder would say that. Mistook it for an M-2 which is the full-auto version of the M-1....hmmm how'd he know so much about guns?)
So what is the Society's current regulation? Can a JW have a hunting rifle or shotgun these days? What about a JW working at a gun shop or target range?

I think that most JW's develop the ability to make a miserable time tolerable from spending so many countless hours in Field Service. Whatever we do for recreation, it is not the activity that is important. It is the simple fact that you and I are doing something for OURSELVES and our families to make US happy. As long as we realize that, even the lamest thing we do on our time off becomes special.
So y'all have fun going online, playing cards, fishing and hunting, hitting the gun range, playing pool at the local bar, renting R-rated movies, skinnydipping, playing D&D, or just spending a day with a case of beer.

I just hit the link and read the story. Then I hit a few links at the bottom of the story. "The Spotlight" popped up in one of them.
I'm not saying I don't believe the Hansen story, but I have to be a little skeptical. The other items on the site reek of the paranoia of the "New World Order" crowd. Is there somewhere I can read this story a little more clearly, with background info and perhaps in the words of the victim himself?
Seems that as outrageous the things done here were, this would have been on tv.

I bet she's promised you the world, right? How she will leave him "when the time is right" and you two will be together. The times you have spent together have probably been dynomite. Maybe even very adventurous; being together with the danger of being caught?
Booze, I just went through the same thing. I'm still trying to quit being in love with Pat.
She was also abused. Broke elbow and hand. She got pretty violent herself.
One night it all came to a head and she moved in with me. Suddenly, the plans for the divorce and our future life were in motion. Well guess what? She had me, she still had "him"; in a way, each of us on the side. She then started to show her true self and a headful of loose wiring.
She merely used me to change her lifestyle, not escape a bad marriage for a good life. Pat was the same way with me. Very jealous and possessive. But I couldn't ask her any questions. Bet it's the same for you, right? I finally accepted the pain to come and loaded up a Ryder truck and she came home one day to an empty house.
I'll tell you now as an outsider to the situation like it was told to me by some good friends who I should have listened to: DON'T GO ANY FURTHER!
Accept the ass-whipping your heart is about to take, and tell her good bye.
If you need a shoulder to cry on, I'm here and so are a lot of other good friends.

U.N. Troops from other countries were quartered at almost every major U.S. military base. Of course they flew the "black helicopters".
The much-maligned Denver Airport (wasn't that the really bad one built recently?) was designed as a "processing center" for U.S. citizens arrested during "the occupation".
Those shiny reflectors on the backs of road signs and mile markers are actually coded troop movement markers for the U.N. Troops. Many suddenly and mysteriously disappeared.
Linda Thompson's shortwave radio program began to have callers from various militia units bragging about shooting down "black helicopters" with a homemade harpoon gun and heavy chain.
Linda Thompson called for a national militia march on Washington D.C.-armed of course-to arrest treasonous members of Congress shortly before the infamous Crime Bill and Assault Weapons Ban.
Some police departments conducted neighborhood "knock and talk" operations, asking to search homes in entire communities. With National Guard armored personnel carriers accompanying them. (Allegedly)

Our story opens with Mike preparing to leave a prime fishing spot at Brushywood River Park. Warden Justice approaches.
Justice: Hold it there sir. Need to talk to you.
Mike: Hey ossifer, what's the problem?
Justice: There's a 'no fishing' sign right there. Looks like you've been fishing, (drinking too!)
Mike: Fishing? Me? Nope.
Justice: So how about that pole and cooler?
Mike: Oh, that's just for my job at Brushywood University Animal Department. The experimental animal department.
Justice: OH! CATCHING FISH FOR ANIMAL EXPERIMENTS! YOU SON OF A...."
Mike: NO!! We're training bass and bream to help people. Part of that training is to name them and train them to come at the call of their names.
Justice: I've heard it all now! And I thought them Jehovahs Witnesses were crazy!
Mike: Really, dude! These 3 bass here in the cooler are trained fish. They come back when I call them. Want to see?
Justice (readying a citation): Sure I just gotta see this
Mike walks down to the river's edge with the cooler. He opens the lid and releases the fish.
Mike: Ok guys, swim out to the middle now. Go on, Dale, Elvis, Lynyrd. Swim out there, now.
Justice: Ok, boy. Let's see this university experiment. Call 'em back!
