My thanks and respects to him and all the heroes of 9/11.
That tragedy crossed all boundaries of race and religion. Let's not focus on who was a Witness or this or that, let's instead respect honor and remember the people who gave their lives on that day to help others regardless of who they were. Please!

Hey Lew, nice to have a fellow tech on the board, even if you do work at a dealer.
You ever do any exhaust work? I spent 5 years at Meineke and was trained by one of the best in the business. This guy had 30 years of pipe bending experience, worked on some of Elvis Presley's cars when he lived in Memphis, and his dad ran the exhaust on the Batmobile used in the original tv series. I do some exhaust work once in a while where I am now but have to be real selective because we don't have a welder or a pipe bender. All we have is a torch and it took a year of begging for them to buy me that.

First Holidays as a Non-JW

Maxwell, let me give you some advice on how to truly appreciate Christmas.
It's all about the kids. Find a kid, or two or three, and give them one hell of a Christmas Morning. Only then will you understand.

That deathclock site is pretty morbid IMO.
According to it, I could either go on Monday, July 4, 2022 at the tender age of 50 if I don't maintain an optimistic outlook or if I keep my hopes up I'll make it to the age of 73 and croak on Sunday, August 13, 2045.
First things first, I'm making it a point to be more optimistic. When that's impossible because I'm a realist, I'll make it a point to find something good to think about and not dwell on the negatives.
Both dates suck. There's no way I'm going at 50, much less on the 4th of July. I don't like dying at the young age of 73 either. Hell, at 73 I'll barely be getting started collecting Social Security. Me, I want to bust a hundred before I go.
Robert D. Raiford (commentator on the John Boy & Billy morning radio show. Also played the district attorney in the movie Carrie 2.) is in his 70's, rides a Harley, and skydives.

I still want to live forever, but not in the world dubs predict. I feel the same way as Francois. If I'm going to live forever I don't want it to be in the same place. I don't know what the dubs teach now regarding technology in their new system but as a dub I always hoped that we would continue to develop science and technology. And that Jehovah would not restrict us to just Earth but allow us to develop and use space travel to explore the rest of the universe. It makes no sense that He would put an infinite universe out there and limit perfect humans to simply look at it from one planet for eternity.

by zev insometimes us 'net' savey dudes tend to get a little lax.. we all know and if we don't, we should, that there are people who read these boards who gather "information".. some of it is used against us to "turn us in", and other wise cause us harm.. i've been careful to not reveal my "true" identity hear, as it is a public forum, however, not careful enough.. my picture, and some desciptions i've used in writing my storiy, and describing my whereabouts, though never specific, have led, i believe, to someone learning where i live exactly, and when i would/wouldn't be home so that an act of crime could be commited against myself.. the time period i refer to is from this post:.

Thanks for the post Zev. I hope in the future you'll be able to fill us in on what happened.
Information like this needs to come out. We all need to be alert to the dangers we could face online. Boards like this bring out a lot of good people like Zev here but they also bring out the psychos. Anyone could be the target of some dub zealot, whether prominent here or not.
