The fluctuation is probably due to time not being recorded or turned into the Society by the 7th of the month. Once turned in it would be reflected on the next month's report.

I had an elder tell me after the Dateline show that reports were coming in to Bethel about the excellent conversations the "friends" were having with ones who had viewed the show. It gave them an opportunity to explain the Witness position on perverts in the Org. The Conditioning goes deep.

Treatment of those DF'd or DA'd
by ExpandedMind indoes anyone on this board, understand how the wts justifies helping your df'd or da's parent or child if they need medical or financial help (in the case of an aging parent) as this would be "honoring your parent", but calling them to see how they are doing (when they are well) is somehow is wrong?
can you "articulate" it as if you were a jw trying to explain it to an outsider?
or would it be apparent that there is something wrong with their teaching?

It's been stated here many times that the Watchtower has no interest in charitable works. As long as you are well and can hustle the literature, that's great. Get sick and on the scrap heap you go. First question to ask is: "Doesn't that sister have any relatives that can help?"

Things That Drove You CRAZY About The Elders
by minimus ini was always amazed by the certain elders that really got into giving heavy counsel, while, they themselves, needed to take their own advice.you know, the elder that always picked on the families that weren't perfect, and was the first to volunteer to give the local needs talk on how to bring up your kids.
meanwhile, the elder's own children were smoking and dating "unbelievers".
and i always smirked when the theocratic ministry school overseer gave tough counsel on timing and the use of word-whiskers and pronunciation, while always violating his own criticisms............what drove you crazy??

Their inability to have an opinion other than the PO's. I once asked an elder what HE thought about something and he asked what did PO say? I told him I was asking him not the PO. The way they would duck meeting parts and taking out the group was annoying as well. One time a brother came out and said he had to go back home because he forgot his bag.

I usually answer the phone, let them begin reading the script and give the call to the kitchen table. When they're done talking (reading) and Mr. Table doesn't respond, they hang up. I agreed to a 30 day trial for broadband once, went through a lengthy session with the telemarketer and her supervisor, explained in detail not to send the equipment to my home but to my office. Came home to a card from UPS saying we were here and now you have to come and get it or we will send it back. They sent it back and now I'm getting bills for a service I never used. Now everybody will get Mr. Table.

Got my judicial notes & file destroyed
by roybatty indoes it bug you that there are notes about you stuck somewhere in a kingdom hall file cabinet?
i cant say that its kept me up at night, but it does bother me that there are notes from my judicial hearing (and a file) that i cant access but just about anyone with a little bit of nerve can.
anyway, i decided to call the po from the last congregation i was in and request that these notes be destroyed.

Records are kept in a sealed envelope with the person's name, date of judicial committee and names of those on the judicial committee. These are to be destroyed after a number of years if the "offender" has kept his/her "nose clean." The Society gets the original. Not likely they would destroy it.

I'm more disturbed at the notion that only JW's in good standing who attend all the meetings, prepare for them, give comments, and go out in FS will be the only ones saved. As for the pictures - many religions teach the earth will be consummed with fire and wicked ones burning in torment forever in Hell.

"N" word at the KH
by sableindian ini went to a racially mixed congregation in the northern suburbs of illinois.
i found that things done in the congregation if done on a job would cause a person to get fired.
(in fact i know a jw who was fired for sexual harrassment.

This reminds me of a Circuit Assembly where JC Howard said it was unnatural for a black woman to have blonde hair. I'm sure this made those sisters feel "encouraged" and "upbuilt."

I went by yesterday and the marquee is not there. The signs for the Kingdom Halls located in the basement are still in place. Is it possible the Assembly Hall sign is being replaced?
