  No, that's the Watchtower say that.

  It just kills me how the come down on education.

  Interestingly, the words “higher education” never once
  
  appeared in that article; it used a term “supplementary” education. This
  
  means a short course of perhaps a few months, or even a year, or maybe a
  
  little longer, in order to adequately take care of their needs. Do we see
  
  the wisdom of that counsel?

  Show me where I can get an education in just a "few months" that can support a family. These guys are so out of touch that they will say anything.

  A balanced, simple life is what
  
  we strive for. 1 Tim 6:8 says to ALL of us, not just pioneers and
  
  Bethelites, that we should be content with sustenance and covering. Being
  
  content with such will help us cut down that economic giant to size.

  I don't think the Society is content with just "sustenance and covering". They're buying up prime property in New York to expand the preaching work line their own pockets.

  Talk about hypocrits.

  every time i find something interesting, i add it to my favorites, and it's adding up... .

  for fun i counted how many favorites i had, and i have about 140 .

  some of you might remember my situation....i have daed myself a while ago, and my father is the only jw in the family.

  since i am very close to him and the family, he has read everything related to shunning, he even asked elders and even them are not sure.

  so he wrote a big long letter to bethel to have an answer.

  Any religion that forces you to stop associating with a family member is a cult. Plain and simple.

  Tell your father to follow his heart and not what men say.

  I mean they are going into symantics. Talking about the meaning of certain words and phrases instead of the spirit of the law.

  the "freeloader" pioneer sister who lives with us asked me this morning if she could "look" up something real quick on my laptop.

  i was not prepared for this and quickly told her the system was down and i would let her use it later.

  how do i get rid of all the recent sites box that you can scroll down to.

  Start>Control Panel

  Choose "Network and Internet Connections"

  Click on "Internet Options"

  Click on "Delete" under Temporary Internet Files and click the "Clear History" button under History.

  That should clear the history so she can't see where you've been.

  bible writers must be rolling in their graves if they saw how their writings were taken apart and mangled by the "spirit directed organization".

  the watchtower prides itself in getting ones 'tasteful spiritual food, nutritional", even!

  what stupid understandings have the witnesses believed in over the years that show you they certainly do not have the "truth"?

  The society declaring that elders are picked by holy spirit, its more like holy sh*t! They can't stop trying to pat

  themselves on the back. They should have wrote the twist and sang it before Chubby Checker, because the

  way they can twist things is way beyond normal and amazes me.

  I remember when they started saying this. I always thought that the elders were getting jealous of all the attention given to the C.O. and D.O. so the society patronized them with some kind of special title of their own. How pathetic is that.

  That the trumpet blast in Revelation prophicied a series of conventions a small religious group called Jehovah's Witness would have almost 2,000 years later in a country that didn't exist.

  I never did beieve that one.

  It amazes me how self important the witnesses make themselves.

  i remember once, an elder told me that i could become a full time pioneer.

  i was working 40 hours a week, and had a seasonal job 7 months a year.. the way he figured it out, i could work 8 hours during my day, then go to my meetings, and still find 3 or 4 hours to preach that same day...... i told him to go climb a tree.

  i hated service, hated getting up early, hated wearing dresses/skirts,hated bugging people early on the weekend, hated "preparing" for service (all i did was read the little blurb on the inside of the awake lol) hated being grouped with elder ihatecoffeebreaks and sister letsdoonemoredooreventhoughits12.......one day brother ihatecoffeebreaks asked me why my time was dropping in service and i said "because i hate service" ( i mean i was taught to be honest right?

  Man, I can feel a cold chill go down my spine while reading this thread. Even after being out for 8 years. I absolutely hated field service. I used to get so nervous and cringed at the thought of talking to people. I remember getting nervouse days before field service. Funny thing is I'm a real people person. I have no problem getting up in front of an audience and tallking for a hour.
