My father(elder) wont let me borrow music!

hey there everyone,.

well my saga continues.... for those who don't know i am getting married this being my second time round, only difference is im marrying a non believer.

i have been fading from the truth for bout 3 years now.. anyway just a short time ago my father (elder) suggested that they look after my son so my new husband and i could have a honeymoon.

Tell them you do know better. You know better than to marry some stupid brother who's only reason for getting married is to finally have sex. You know better than to stay with a religion that says it speaks for God, but has hundreds of man made rules. And you know better than to give your life to a religion that is doomed.

Don't worry about them not coming. My wife and I had a wonderful wedding without my family. Funy thing is my sister couldn't figure out why we didn't come to her wedding. I mean, duh, you don't come to my wedding, I'm not coming to yours. They just don't get it do they?

it's been a while since the society has been specific about what kind of music to avoid hasn't it?.

the last i remember was when the said to stay away from rap and heavy metal.

Nothing changes much in WatchtowerLand. When I was a teen, both the Beatles and the dance called "The Twist" were on the WT no-no list. It doesn't get much dumber than that.

I remeber that. We were told that the song "Twist" was taken from an ancient tribal sex chant. Can you believe that load of crap. Even when I was in I couldn't conceive that. They will say anything to keep you inline. I guess that's guerilla theocratic warface

Same thing happened to me. When I told my mother I was getting married she was so happy. Then all of a sudden she said she and my sister said they were not coming to the wedding because that would show they approved of me marrying a "worldly person". She must have talk to an ~~Pharasie~~ elder. Even though I had not went to a meeting in over 5 years at the time. She said that if I hadn't been baptised she would have came, but since I was baptised witness it was wrong. However, a month or so after the wedding she wanted to come and visit and wants us to visit as much as possible. It doesn't make sense to me or my wife. If were so bad that they can't come to our wedding, why is it OK to come to our house and stay the weekend.

I try to not say anythng about it. I realize they are brainwashed and will do anything the Borg tells them to. It's funny how they put all the emphasis on outward appearance. She's starting to come around now since my sister's marriage to a wonderful brother ended in a messy divorce one year later. I can tell in her voice that she regrets not coming.

You can really only feel pity for the witnesses now. They are under such control that they can't even make a simple decision like going to their child's wedding. What is supposed to be one of the happiest times in your life, they turn into a way to show how rightous they are. Good luck with your wedding and have a wonderful honeymoon.

I remember at one convention they were interviewing a teenager on stage about music. He said he really like Will Smith's song "Summertime", but after the Society came out with the information on rap music he burned his Will Smith CD. Will Smith has to be one of the cleanest rappers out there. I just thought what a idiot. I wonder how many ran home a burn their rap CD's. I also remember when I was young they really blasted any rock music and said that only country music was suitable to listen to.

In another thread I mentioned how the speaker mentioned the Stone Temple Pilots and how it was wrong to listen to them. I kept think that this guy has never listened to them and was just going on their name because it has the word Temple in it. What a bunch of losers.

I thought to myself that there was no way this guy has ever listened to the Stone Temple Pilots and was just saying this becuase of the word "Temple" in the name of the band. How stupid is that?

Let's see, what did I trash. Uhmm, AC/DC, Metallica, Faith No More, and others. What an idiot I was.

Another JW divorce!

my wife just got word that another couple in the local congregation will be divorcing.this will be the third one within 2 years,all couples in their 20's-30's,just like us here.. anyways,he committed adultery,got a std and she threw him out;the children are devastated.he was known for flirting with any attractive woman,married or not,christian or not.. what upsets me is that these people all went to the hall acting like righteous christians and pre-meditating their family-breaking adultery.meanwhile,i'm treated like shit because i don't attend all meetings here,they must have a wager on my wife and i.like i told the wife before<i'm not going anywhere and i value my family.

Same thing happened to my sister. She met some witness guy and they were engaged when my wife and I got married. Of couse she wouldn't come to the wedding and would barely talk to us when we visited my mom. She was very "holier than thou". Well she got married to the fella and one year later they were divorced. As for my wife and I, five years this May and never happier.

Kinda throws the "You will know them by their love" thing out the window doesn't it?

Maybe someone should send their congressman or woman a copy of their literature showing the capitol being destroyed. That would get some attention. Then again, I don't want my poor old mom to be rounded up by the goverment.

I mean with all the anti-goverment sentiment in their publications (ie. showing the destruction of the UN and world goverments) I guess I'm suprised the goverment hasn't taken action already. Of course if the goverment did take action against them it would just prove in their own mind they are the chosen ones.

Which makes me wonder about another thing. When are you not considered a JW. I haven't attend a meeting in over 8 years, but I'm not DF'd or DA'd. Do you have to disassociate yourself to be removed from their files or is there a time limit?

We've lived in our new house going on 5 years and only once did the witnesses come around. Thank goodness for them my wife didn't answer the door. She would have given them an earful. I never see any of the witnesses from the old congregation. Not that I'm complaining.
