  that's right, nothing.. you get struck on the cheek and you pony up for the other slap.. your pray for the enemy who wants you face down in the mud with his heel on your neck.. you get treated like pond scum and force a smile and forgive.. abused?

  That's easy. They've all failed because the end is never coming. All the end time garbage was invented to keep people in line. Scare them into submission.

  The end is never coming. Life will go on one way or another. Long after we are gone and the human race is gone. Life will continue to thrive on this planet and in the universe.

  I always tell my JW family that I would rather enjoy my life now than worry about the end of time.

  in george orwell's novel 'nineteen eighty-four' the capitulation of the principal protagonist is portrayed in his willingness to assent to the proposition that two and two make five.

  once he had denied objective reality, his mental conquest was complete and he was no longer truly the master of his own mind.

  nineteen eighty-four is in many ways, a very depressing read.. a charge commonly leveled at jehovah's witnesses is that the type of mind control envisioned by orwell has been and continues to be used on them.

  my mother was very strict about entertainment.

  in school i was doing a project about teen suicide and had checked out some books on suicide and abortion.

  i had alot of explaining to do for that.

  Hey all this just made me remember something.

  When I finally made the switch from cassette to CD's I had at least 200 cassettes of various artist from Fleetwood Mac to Poison. I offered all my cassettes to a teenage girl in our congregation since she didn't have allot of money. She took one look at my cassettes and told me they were all demonized. What's up with that?

  Mom would turn the channel if any sex scene or kissing scene came on. I can still hear her say "That's disgusting" and turning the channel.

  She burned my Duran Duran "Rio" Tape because of a line about demons.

  All the usual JW bullsh!t from smurfs to KISS.

  I also could have a BB gun or anything to do with the mility. I remeber I had a really cool poster of a lady army helicopter pilot on my wall. She ripped it down soon after I put it up.

  She still hates that I have a goatee and won't even talk about me teaching karate. (oh yeah, that was banned as well)

  Must be a different Don Culp. This guy looks just like Steve Martin. He's been mistaken for him on numerous occasion. He never had you boys around him and was a solid family man. I have to admit he is one of the genuine good guys. Although he totaly beleive it all he never the less is a great guy.

  He's the bother I studied with and I was good friends with his daughter. Of course now she'll have nothing to do with me.

  So let me get this straight.

  You're not allowed to flirt unless you are planning on marrying someone. How are you supposed to let that person know you are interested if you can't flirt with them? Do you just pick someone in your congregation and tell them you would like to marry them and then start flirting with them.

  They are so sexually frustrated in Bethel all they can think about is sex. They have no social skills and it show in the interpretation of everyday life.

  the wt of september 15, 2010 (kool-aid version) has two articles on unity.

  one is titled: unity identifies true worship and the other christian unity glorifies god.

  of course it is more uniformity, not true unity.

  Wow!!, just Wow!!. I can't believe some of the sh!t they come up with. They are in essence saying the they (the GB) is receiving more and better holy spirit than the rest of the JW's. Since they alone can interpret what the bible says.

  How did all those people in history get along without them?

  How insulting to the R&F. They are telling them that they are too stupid to understand the bible by themselves.
