  Public Talks- What do you think about the changes?

  what do you think about the reduced time of the public talks?.

  i actually find it pleasant, it makes it a lot easier to tolerate some of the boring speakers.

  but what about the service.

  I think they will gradually keep making it easier to toe the line just to keep the numbers up. After a while they're either gonna disappear or become just another religion doing all the same stuff as everyone else. Oh, except this church owns a LOT of property.

  Was invited over to someone's house for lunch with the CO. Old, tiny and frail with a great sense of humor and he loved the kids. He actually HAD kids - lots of them. Anyway, towards the end of the meal he said: Guess it's about time to go down to the Shootout at Ulcer Gulch - referring to his meeting with the elders. LOL! I was so shocked to learn that a CO felt that way. I logged that event for years to come and it ended up helping me with my eventual escape.

  today is the first day i was able to come out and say something that was on my mind by just replying to some subjects on this forum.

  i see that its really a therapeutic way to get some of these things off my chest.

  i was dfd almost 10 years ago and i just now am starting to come out and play.

  Has anyone ever played with a ouija board?

  this past weekend, we met a new couple in our campground, and the conversation soon came 'round to the supernatural.

  the lady said she has had quite a few supernatural experiences, and that she plays her own home-made version of the ouija board.

  my husband was all excited and begged her to play .

  I remember playing with them in high school at slumber parties, but I don't remember them ever revealing anything incredible.

  Then, one day in college a group of us got together to "summon the spirits". The 2 girls who put their hands on the pointer were blindfolded. I was selected to write down the letters it pointed to. I started recording the letters,which at first seemed unintelligible (the text is void of punctuation,etc), and then suddenly I realized that the string of letters was actually a SENTENCE. I screamed and told everyone what was happening.

  It made such an impression on me, that I think I can still remember most of it. Here it is: "m a m a m a mary little, she will die, die by fire, see how the face melts".

  It feels like there was more to it than that, but the weird thing was that there was a girl in our class whom we called "Little Mary". She was flying home for the holidays the next day and we started to imagine the worst.

  I had no doubt then nor do I today that there was "someone" else there with us. Never had that experience again - well of course not, I became a dub at 21.

  i actually attended the bookstudy on friday, don't ask me why.

  anyway the revelation book is being considered and we're at the paragraph where the congregation in ephesus is comended for "not bearing bad men.." apostates.. .

  the comments from the ones attending were so baised and ignorant.

  my first response is:
  how in the hell do they know? they don't talk to us, they treat us like shite, and label us with a single nomer - too much flock mentality (imho)

  the REVELATION BOOK - LOLOL. I think they are using this book study to separate out those who have mentally flatlined from the rest who may just be lazy.

  i'm finally having fun and can only hope that i "end up" having a lot more of it..... t.

  Crisis of Conscience - the part about the brothers in Mexico being allowed (approved by hdqtrs) to bribe their way out of military service. . . and our brothers and sisters in malawi were being raped, beat and killed bc they weren't allowed (by hdqtrs)to carry a govt ID card. THAT was the instant I knew that no matter what else I still believed or felt, I needed to really step back, way back, further...............

  The Jehovah's Witness Cult Hires Illegal Immigrants

  working in retail management is a never ending adventure.

  you never know what is lurking around the next corner.

  such was the case about six months ago when my boss asked me to stay over on a sunday night to watch the store while a floor cleaning crew did a strip and wax.. now with my self being a former jehovah's witness, i already knew that a great deal of the jw's owned and operated their own floor cleaning buisnesses, and there was a good chance that the floor crew on that sunday night would more than likely be a jw operation.. when the guys first walked in, i just had a feeling that my hunch was right.

  About 25 years ago at a District Convention, a brother stopped me from getting on the escalator because I was wearing open-toed shoes. Said it was illegal for safety reasons. I just went home I was so mad. I guess I should have listened better to all the red flags I saw, but alas, here we all are now and that's a good thing.

  No sandals on the stairs, but by all means hire "illegals" if you can save some money.

  i'll bet it's already been posted and i missed it but if not, i just heard that brooklyn hq is to be sold over concerns for safety following the 9/11 attacks.

  the news has come to me through an incredibly loyal jw sister.

  i know her, she wouldn't repeat anything like this if she hadn't heard it from the kingdom hall or a circuit overseer.. anything to this?.
