i was asking many questions and doing much research to make sure that my decision was justified and fully verified.. when i asked one particular elder about certain teachings in one of the study books, i was told "that's ten years old, that's "old-hat" now".
i was bewildered at this comment, as this elder would be expected to explain and fully justify the organisation's position on all that went on in 1914, and the subsequent years.
When I said to my wife I could show her some WT quotes where they are way out of line she said:"ok,but I don't want to see anything more than 10 years old".
When she told some elders she could trust about my list of 30 questions she was told:"well,if he doesn't have the truth in his heart,it doesn't matter what we tell him".What an easy way to get out of answering questions that have no scriptural answers!

when i was an active witness it was quite noticeable that when world shattering events took place, such as a disaster, tensions between major nations, war in iraq or events like that of 9/11 the meeting attendance would drastically improve.
this was mainly due to ones whom you rarely saw flocking back because they thought armageddon was coming.
what if this almost impossible scenario occurred.
For sure the attendance would go up if such an announcement was made.The problem is many who have left have never studied the WTS past history or how their doctrines don't mesh with the bible.Therefore many who have left still think it's the "truth".
I've done my homework,I would definitely not go back.

why doesn't the wts point out the new light (tm) when it is published and do a compare and contrast study so jws are fully aware of the change and the ramifications of the change?.
to this day there are many jws who are unaware of the generation change in 1995.
The WTS has a monopoly on the "new light".They can do whatever they want with it.Just try telling them your not in agreement with something,like the points uncle Gary just brought out.

i was sitting here facing yet another box of jw books.
most of them were older books but 3 were those new paperbacks they are putting out.. so as i'm sitting there tearing these sad excuses for doctrine i was wondering why the society would change their format.
after all, they have been printing their books for eons and they are so easily recognizable.
Actually,one of the main reasons jw's re-study the same book at the book study is because bethel sometimes get an-over inventory of a certain book.So to drop their inventory they just re-schedule that book for the book study.Now,not every jw will get a new copy but enough will to make a dent in the inventory and clear some shelves at bethel.I got this from ISOCF.

Poor little girl! All alone until Sunday with hardly any money and already bored.Sounds like a recipe for trouble.Maybe you should start by attending the meeting tonight,then a little service tomorrow morning,the book study on Thursday night,Friday to catch your breath and back out in service Saturday morning,the Watchtower on Sunday morning and wow,your honey's home already!

7.meeting Attendence-definitely much lower around here,and to think at one time they were talking about splitting up the congregation in two or building another hall.I don't think any of that is going to happen soon.

10- you vigorously deny the existence of thousands of gods claimed by other religions, but feel outraged when someone denies the existence of your god - jehovah.. .
9- you feel insulted and 'dehumanized' when scientists say that people evolved from lesser life forms, but you have no problem with the biblical claim that we were created from dirt.. .
8- you laugh at polytheists, but you have no problem believing in multidues of demons, angels, cherubs etc.. .
You firmly believe that jesus returned in 1914,invisibly,even though it was once thaught he returned in 1874,invisibly.And the he went on a 4 year campaign to examine the religions of the world to find the only one who was producing the proper food at the proper time;then in 1918 he chose the WTBTS and decided they were the FDS even though the WTBTS teaches that the FDS was put in place by Jesus in 33 C.E.;all this all the heels of the WTBTS setting up their Millions Now Living Will Never Die campaign and foretelling the end of the world for the year 1925.
And all this without any scriptural proof! AAAHHH!
Sure it's funny,but most of here believed it at one time.I don't anymore.

what do you do with all your free sattiday mornings now that you don't have to sell magazines for 2 hours?
I got up at 5:30 am and went to work,no problem.
It used to be hell getting up at 8:30am to go out in service.
