My emotional and mental health is a lot better without the negative influence of the WTS. I no longer live in that JW fog.It 's really amazing how much we bought into their lies and let it control our lives as much as we did.

is it better or worse since you left the jehovah's witnesses?
hope you are all well.. if you have been following the soap-opera of my life and the letter i wrote my dad then you may be interested in the latest.. my dad has been here visiting and we had a good long talk yesterday about my letter and what has brought me to the decision to leave the org.
he listened to everything i had to say and agreed with everything i had to say.
his own doubts arose when he became an elder and got a clearer picture of the abusive tactics that are used on the sheep.
Hi Freedomlover,
I followed your husband's story on jwd last year and it was by far the one I enjoyed most.I have been unsuccessful in showing the errors of the WTS to my wife;she is one of those who are in extreme denial no matter how much factual evidence is presented.
Two weeks ago,my father came over and told me he was quitting the jw's.I was so excited that my perseverance had paid off. Then a few days later he told me he was going to keep going to the meetings and tough it out. What a blow! A week later they promoted him to MS!!!!! oh well...
I'm very happy for you and hope things work out.Take your time and let him digest the information slowly. My bet is he'll be out of there within a year. Say HI to Ithinkisee for me.Have anice day.

for the newbies, this post is a follow up on my situation regarding the watch tower's law suit against my due to my watch tower quotes web site.
for the background on the story so far, see these threads:
quotes website receives "cease & desist"
Thanks for the update! I'm glad things turned out well for you and it's quite obvious the WTS can't shut down the entire internet and hide all their lies.Have you thought about contacting the large national newspapers who might be intersted in doing a write-up on your story?

some believe that jesus christ is the salvation.
others have opinion that the organization is the salvation.
where is the truth?
Here is how I see it,
Jn 3:16-For God loved the world so much that He gave His only-begotten Son,in order that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed, but have everlasting life.
Jn 14:6-Jesus said to him: I am the way and the truth and the life.No one comes to the Father except through me.
Now if the WTS says we have to be a part of their organization in order to approach God or have salvation then they are making themselves equal to Jesus.
1 Cor.1:13-The Christ exists divided.Paul was not impaled for you,was he? Or were baptized in the name of Paul?
We might have been baptized in the name of the WTS (contrary to scripture) but the WTS was never impaled for our salvation.
Mt 6:24-No one can slave for two masters...
Hope this helps.

i have just posted a new article at http://www.jwfacts.com/index_files/5min.htm that is copied below.
can you please check it and make any suggestions?
a few bits may not make total sense as they are links to other pages in the website.
You did a great job JWfacts.Although it felt like a little longer than 5 minutes to read it is quite simple and expresses your points clearly.A hard-core jw in their regular state of denial will completely ignore it if they see it but someone who wants to "test the inspired expressions" might take a more serious look at it and do some research of their own.
"If you can't defend your faith and show the scriptural basis for your beliefs then maybe you have been misled"-beyond the watchtower

sorry how long this is but i found the meeting very exciting.
the short version is i said directly that i do not believe in the wts, feel being d/f is unfair on my jw family so asked them to just leave me alone.
it didn't work.
by my count, there are 70 countries that reported zero increase in publishers - or actual losses.
i think last year it was 64.. worldwide:.
memorial attendance is down.
This is great news!!! Thank you.

it was on another thread (jwfacts' one about his jc meeting) that i posted a personal experience and it occurred to me, that although it is well behind me and i don't dwell on it (much!
), it may be of some help to those who visit here and are unsure what they think about their jw beliefs.. i wrote:.
mrs ozzie and i agreed to have a representative from bethel come to visit us as a friend.
Matthew 15:8-"This people honors me with their lips, yet their heart is far removed from me"
That's all I have to say about those religious leaders. Thanks for sharing your experience Ozzie.

i think that this is the most difficult lesson in leaving the jw world.
the black and white thinking created such a neat little world where everything was so easily explained and categorized, provided you didn't mind living in a bubble.
i think the one area of black and white thinking that caused me the most difficulty and cognitive dissonance was the question of jehovah's will vs. satan's temptations.
Sorry, didn't get to finish my post,my computer bumped me out.
What I wanted to say, along with your tought "shit happens" is the scripture in Ecclesiastes 9:11 "...unforeseen time and occurence befall them all.".So yes some things are grey or just the luck of the draw or coincidence or the result of a smart decision or a bad decision.By putting it on Jehovah or Satan we could take the accountability away from ourselves and spin the situation in the direction we wanted it to go.You could write a whole chapter in a book on this one.
