  Why Are Some Superstitions Okay?

  this is one of the things i never understood as a jw.

  i was told that jws were not superstitious people.

  as followers of the true god jehovah, we weren't to give in to false beliefs, even if others were practicing them.

  We were told the times of miracles were over after the apostles passed away, yet JWs could become totally invisible to Nazis even though they were standing in plain sight in the middle of a room.

  since you've stopped believing as a jehovah's witness, does "god" in any form come into your heart and mind?

  God's intervention?

  do you perceive that god intervenes in your daily life?.

  for instance , if you were not making enough money to cover your unexpected expenses would you pray specifically to god for that expense or expenses to be covered?

  I love all five books of Harry Potter, I read about five times all and I?m desperate to read number 6.

  I have a collection of Agatha Christie, so I like it too.

  Recently I enjoy, Crisis of Conscience.

  The Da Vinci Code

  Some of James Patterson, like Suzan?s Diary, etc.

  my wife missed the meeting to night due to flu and a sister who has far more health problems than us phoned to ask after her.

  she even asked after me, brother 'long time no see'!

  Numbers in Developed Countries

  this started as a reply to another post, but i feel it deserves a spin off.. did you ever noticed the abysmal difference in success the jws are getting between the developed countries and the less developed countries of the world?..

  dc % of growth without bra & mex: 0.53% .

  ldc% of growth with bra & mex included: 3.20% .

  Well, I tell you in person first and now I?m going to write it to you.

  In country like EU, the people read more now and they are more informative. Those numbers are not good for them, maybe they are afraid of losing more people this year, they have to do something drastic, and yes some changes. So we see.
