  anyone ever wonder whether IT could be the TRUTH?

  i cant believe im posting this either!.

  but ive got a huge decision to make wont go thru it all again its on my last thread, and i have decided that i am stopping going to the meetings completly (ive been dfed 7 months and because i didnt want to hurt my family even more i continued going to all the meetings and hid my boyfriend, wno was wonderful about it, put a letter of reinstatement in which they refused but relised by the way i paniked when i thought they might reinstate me that it is not what i want!).

  i love my bf and want to be with him without any secrecy but i also want my family to accept him and still speak to me but i know that will not happen, so i have two choices either get reinstated and then leave (and risk losing mybf) or tell them now i dont want it and stop the meetings altogether before i go insane.. thing is to be free of the meetings and be with my bf, i will lose my family they are all so strong in the 'truth' they will not have any contact with me and my husband is divorcing me so ill lose finacially and my house and have to share time with my daughter, not to mention all my old friends who are wanting me back, and if i stop now all those months of trying to be reinstated will be wasted id be set right back,.

  i think that what is really happening is that institutions are being broken down.

  for examples: marriage, family, traditional family roles, churches, traditional 'morals'.

  It may APPEAR to be so, but I would be hard-pressed to accept that the masses, due to independent thought but collective action, are responsible for the breakdown of institutions. They may be CONTRIBUTING to it, but aren't the ones "pushing the buttons". My thoughts, anyway.

  Institutions have existed for millennia and, IMO, were set up as a means to control/manage humankind. By who? Other humans? God(s)? In any event, conditions are the same as at man's beginning. There are the rich, the poor and everyone in between. People still rob, murder, steal, rape, torture. Sickness and death are still with us. So much for institutions as the "be all/end all". They have always existed as the tool of whoever is really "in charge" and are merely pacifiers for the hoi polloi. At this juncture in time, it simply appears as if humanity is entering another phase, and the breakdown of our institutions is happening as a result of either a change in the mindset of those who control the institutions (god[s], humans) or the arrival of the next scheduled event in the agenda of those doing the controlling. To assume that the agitated masses are responsible for this breakdown is a bit naive.

  Welcome, and don't worry about the long paragraph. It sounds like you need to proceed very slowly with this. There is so much to read and meditate on, but don't force yourself to get all the answers yesterday. Eventually, within YOUR time frame, you will begin coming to various conclusions. Use these as stepping stones, and eventually you will start feeling more comfortable with the progress you've made. Many of us would like to just set everything out and tell you "this isn't right", "but they said this", "forget what they said about that", etc., but that isn't going to be of benefit to you. Rather, you must pick and choose what YOU want to think about in order for YOU to obtain the most benefit. As lola28 said, we'll be here to help.

  i remember the whole, "slap one cheek and turn and let them slap the other", philosophy we were taught as witnesses.

  i was wondering how others felt about this and how far you left it behind.

  i know people will sometimes have that humble personality that allows things to role off them, while others are more prone to fight the fine fight.

  do you think the wt has become more lenient or stricter over the year?.

  i am 21 and i remember just 4 years ago going to college was looked at as something negative.

  girls my age, we had plans to be ft pioneers and become secretaries.

  i tried it, could not swallow all the lies and misinformation they had.

  i am sorry, but even if you deny the whole witness faith, there is still parts to christianity that they pointed out that you can not just ignore and act like it is okay to join another faith that is christian.

  are you going to become catholic when your know their history?

  So I would be no different if I was a Witness or a Christian, both rely on ignoring a great deal of facts.

  Correct-o-mundo. Except you wouldn't be dragging a JW ball & chain if you were a Christian.
