WTS still an NGO in US?
by ICBehindtheCurtain inhi all: i came across something very interesting, in looking at this pdf there is a list of ngo's that attended for some conference on anti-semitism and guess who is on there?
if you scroll down you will find that in belgium the wts (under their european christian jehovah's witness umbrella) but if you scroll down to the us section you will find that they show up as the watchtower bible and tract society of pennsylvania, so apparently as of 2005 when this conference was held, they were still an ngo, does anyone else know about this?.

Does Knowing the Truth Make you a Happier person?
by gumby inmany of us who were once jehovah's witnesses had a measure of happiness in our lives.
for me, i had a hope in the future, i had answers as to why we are all here, i believed in a loving god who looked after me and cared about me, i had answers to all of lifes big questions.. when i found out the truth about the witnesses, i was lost in a great big world and now had no answers other than the fact that what i once believed was "the truth" in actuality wasn't the truth.i now had to start all over in my search for truth.
for me, it wasn't long before i found what i thought was the truth since i always believed in the bible.

Since I have got re-instated I've been able to open doors that I could not open before to witnesses regarding their beliefs and I intend to keep on doing it until they kick my ass out again.
Your ass may be out the door a lot sooner than you expect. All those smiles and back-slapping when they announced your re-instatement were just a facade. The "boys" are gonna be watching you closely, as well as their "stoolies". Loose lips sink ships, so if you say something a little off kilter to the wrong dub(s) you'll be back in the hot seat again. And don't forget --- they're good at pickin' up on eye rolls, conversation pauses at the "wrong" time, and rhetoric. Happy trails, gumroy!

New Bedford, Mass. in the 1950's -- photos
by Fatfreek ini hail from new bedford, mass.
i was a newbie with the jw's in the mid 50's, quickly and naively following my parents, and when i graduated high school (new bedford high) i moved to where the "need was great" in central iowa.
the following is a composite photo of some of the folks that met on the second floor of an insurance building in new bedford.

A very charismatic couple when I knew them.
And they knew it, too. When they'd come back to the ol' congo for a visit (they were in the circuit work) they were treated like visiting royalty. I was always waiting for someone to genuflect and kiss Bishop Bill's ring.

I have no respect for a religion that has basically created their own version of god. For example: the "old light"/"new light" scam. Why would god direct his people through his "channel", the faithful & discreet slave, to accept something as TRUTH, and then take out his eraser and remove what he had previously directed them to believe? "Tacking" on the part of god? It's just plain "tacky" and a con. If there is a god of truth, it certainly isn't the god of Jehovah's Witnesses.

If the bible is from God then explain this!
by Anti-Christ innu 31:17-18 moses, following the lord's command, orders the israelites to kill all the midianite male children and "... every woman who has known man ...." (note: how would it be determined which women had known men?
one can only speculate.
dt 21:10-13 with the lord's approval, the israelites are allowed to take "beautiful women" from the enemy camp to be their captive wives.

Sometimes, you HAVE to learn the hard way- and that is how mankind is learning! They are learning the folly of setting up their own way of ruling & living that is so selfish, so ignorant!
After thousands of years with a body count in the billions, they sure are sloooooooow learners.

Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses is basically the Service Dept.
So the rest of Jehovah's Witnesses are not the Christian Congregation? What congregation might they be, then?

The return address on the last letter I received from Patterson, NY (Aug. 2005) says "Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses". Maybe someone can confirm with something a bit more recent.

I was "in" for over thirty years. I was young and could have accomplished so much. When it all came crashing down, and I realized it was not true, I had the rude "awakening" and realized that I am now 55 years old, no college, no friends, no retirement, very few vacations to see any other parts of the world, and no idea what to believe. It's sort of like coming out of a coma.
"What does not destroy me, makes me stronger." (Friedrich Nietzsche) This is the philosophy I embraced after my 30+ years in the Borg. I don't have a college degree, a booming MLM business, or a winning lottery ticket. It was a matter of starting over with my life after exiting the Borg. I felt like someone who had served their time in prison (albeit a spiritual enslavement which nonetheless affected every aspect of my life) and finally exited the Watchtower gates into the "new light" of freedom. The religion of the Witnesses is not your usual brand of Christianity, IF it is Christianity at all. None of the mainstream Christian religions manifest the same overbearing control as does the JW religion, with its overlords bent on maintaining a tight rein over their "skinned sheep". That's why there are so many more ex-JW internet sites than ex-Catholic, ex-Methodist, ex-Lutheran, etc. sites. The frequent changes in dogma regarding blood, transplants, anointed ones, etc. demonstrate that the WBTS is actually a continuously morphing organization, making one doubt if their fickle god Jehovah (Mal. 3:6 "For I am Jehovah; I have not changed") knows what he's doing. With each change in doctrine, the Borg is actually throwing down the gauntlet and challenging its enslaved minions to accept or reject its "new light". At each turn, some leave, but most stay, indicating the power these purveyors of doom hold over their "flock". Right from the get-go you're told "we're not a cult". But how far from "the truth" they really are.
