If I were to visit your town for the first time..
by doodle-v inwhat food places would you reccomend?
if im in a new town, i like going to eat at places that locals go to that most like likely are not in all the tourists guides, if possible.
if you were to come to my town, i'd probably take you to eat at dick's drive in (best burgers imo) and if you were in the mood for something fancy, maybe el gauchos (best steakhouse imo) and terrific atmosphere... how bout you?

I do believe that in the long run, the arrogance that the WTS shows, whenever accused of wrongdoing, will be their downfall... Hey I can dream, can't I?

Would you buy this XJW coffee mug?
by coult9056 inbecause i have a sense of humor about the many failed prophecies of the jw's, i've always wanted some ex-jw merchandise with some class and humor to go with it.
i've considered marketing a few of my ideas.....coffee mugs, shirts, etc.
there are so many areas to go (no blood, no military service, college = devil's propaganda, etc.

No more meetings for me!
by cyberguy inwell, after being out-of-town for nearly 2 months, i?ve decided i can no longer go to any meetings after returning home (not that i was going to that many beforehand).
i?m not sure what is happening to me, but i?ve actually developed an aversion to anything "watchtower!
" i cannot even read the literature, including current awake and watchtower magazines, without getting extremely nauseous!

The Gay Elder
by Mastodon ini just heard from back home (puerto rico), about this elder i know (i was good friends with his daughter), that just got df'd for homosexuality.
this is how the story goes:
he was an elder for over 20 years and he even claimed to be of the "annointed class'.

LOL @ Tammy. I have to cut down my make-up use. I guess when I used the term 'tried to molest' was basically that our friend the Gay Elder tried to touch my friend or something like that, I don't remember the specifics of it, but what I do know is that my friend's dad told him to stp lying about such a 'spiritually devout' elder, one of the annointed class. Funny, ain't it?

I have completely faded at this point, and my mother, my only relative in the JW's, will hardly speak to me. She didn't even called me when my grandma passed away. Although I have faded, I know that eventually I will DA myself simply because my feelings about everything I have found out about the Society are too strong. My dissasociation letter is over 17 pages long. But what I'll do when/if I decide to send it in, is send a copy of it to each and every person that I consider friends or have seen me growing up in the JW's, including my mom. That way I make sure that each of them knows exactly what are my motives and reasonings behind my decision. It's funny how, when somebody is DF'd, even when the cases are suppposed to be 'confidential', everybody finds out exactly what happened. Yet, when somebody DA's themselves because of serious issues against the Society, nobody ever knows exactly what went on and then the speculations begin and they will vilify you even more. I'll just make sure that everyone I care about in that Organization, knows exactly why I did what I did and if they want to talk to me again or not, it's their decision and their conscience, just as it was my conscience that made me leave. Good Luck Rick

Now my problem is that, in retrospect, I find myself wondering why this elder never came-on to ME... I mean, I am a handsome dude, but now I have my doubts... :P

I just called the new 800# for da Dubs...
by upside/down ini left a brief message with my # - they actually called me back, in less than 24 hours.. we talked for about 30 minutes.
i laid all my "gripes" right out on the table.
the brother listened only offered me 1 scripture and even dignified me by saying i probably already knew it, but he would like to read it anyway.
