ALL YOU BABY BOOMERS - LETS REMINISCE, O.K. ??
by juni ini've decided to put out this topic for some fun after i posted at the simon and garfunkel topic.. anything you want to say on whatever subject: music, movies, life, work, what did our generaton contribute to society, family, grandchildren, your body now heading south, baldness, acceptance of ourselves and shortcomings, more tolerant (or too tired to care?)..
i feel our generation has contributed greatly to medical advances i.e.
replacing worn out joints, etc.

I feel our generation has contributed greatly to medical advances i.e. replacing worn out joints, etc. Keeping a good attitude about getting older. And loving to have fun and act goofy. Not afraid to get out there and shake our booties w/our grandchildren at parties.
Love to hear about your feelings!! juni breeze~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

FANTASTIC DUO!!!!!!! Musical and lyrical geniuses. I also LOVE their music. "Bridge Over Troubled Waters", "Cecelia", on and on. And Paul Simon - great music. How about the Righteous Brothers?? Love them too!! "You've Lost that Loving Feeling", "I Need Your Love".
Oh boy, nostalgia time. Fleetwood Mac, the English invasion of the 60's, Motown, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh take me back!! To me the upheaval of the anti-war movement and anti-establishment stands, civil rights movement were NOTHING compared to the *hit going on now.
There are so many whackos now and selfishness is to the extreme. Politics, ugh!
"IMAGINE" - John Lennon "WOMAN" - Lennon "STRANGE DAYS INDEED" - Lennon and on and on and on
I'm 56 so I'm sure a lot of you "baby boomers" can relate. In fact we can listen and enjoy a lot of our childrens' music whereas our parents freaked out over our stuff, heh?!! I remember when the Beatles were on the Ed Sullivan show and my parents went crazy over their LONG hair!!! What is this world coming to they said. You know what? As teens they did a lot of the same *hit, but it wasn't talked about.
Got an idea for a new TOPIC. See ya around, juni breeze~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We lost our loving golden retriever, Coach, this week. He has been very sick and we did everything we could for him, but our last show of love for him was to have him put to sleep. He was only 6 1/2 yrs. old and it must' ve been cancer. He was special to me for many reasons. He never growled or showed aggression (he even allowed pet birds to land on his head and never tried to grab them), loved people no matter their age, gave lots of kisses and unconditional affection, always there to greet you, my buddy when I was going through a divorce and having to make a lot of changes in my life, he loved car rides and the dog parks, he was a great snuggler and on and on.
I miss him terribly, but know we did the right thing.
Take some time today for your pet and do something special with them. Before you know it they are gone from your life, but never absent from your heart.

I feel that I just figured out what went down here!! Toer pushed our buttons and we all fell for it. All this time he was racking up hours for his field service time slip - probably too lazy to walk door to door, sick, actually hates the public door to door ministry so finds other means to get his time in so he's approved by others. HOW SAD!! Juni ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Hi Toer,
How long have you been a Witness? I started in1970. How do you feel about the subject of their need for more and more money donations? That was one thing that turned us off w/the mainstream religions and now it seems like the JW Org. is doing the same thing. How about the over abundance of rules even down to the minute i.e. how many paper towels to use to dry your hands at assemblies. Thanks for answering. Juni

HE'S CREEPY AND LIKE SOMEONE HERE SAID, IT'S A PHASE. THAT'S WHY HE WON'T QUIT HIS TOURING, ETC. JUST CLEAN UP THE LYRICS. ACTUALLY IT GAVE HIM NEW FODDER TO USE. SOUNDS VERY FLOWER CHILD-LIKE.

Brett Favre question.....................
by HappyDad inok............i'm happy that my pittsburgh steelers beat greenbay yesterday, but i need to know something that has been bugging me for years.. and i know that many intellegent jwder's would be able to answer my question.
would someone p-u-l-l-e-e-z-e tell me the correct pronounciation of brett's last name.
it is spelled...........favre but i have never heard it said any other than farve.
-
juni
I live near the capitol of the "cheesehead" state. Maybe some of you know how famous Wisconsin is for so many American Indian names? It is comical to hear people struggle through pronunciations - but it makes for fun conversation. Brett's name is pronounced "Farve". Who knows why? "le Havre" in French is pronounced "le" short "e" and "Havre" short "a" and swallow the "re". Word translates to "the Harbor".
So Brett's name is not French, nor makes any sense with how it's pronounced - just makes for fun conversation!! juni :)

I realized something today...
by tall penguin ini was thinking today about my business.
i've been working in the field of educational therapy for the past 4 years, helping children and adults with learning challenges.
in the past year, i started working with infants as well, supporting their first year motor development.

Good evening Tall Penguin,
I remember when I was only 3 mo. out of the org. I felt a lot of anger and hurt and like you yelled toward the heavens above one night on one of my walks. I found yelling and speed walking really helped release tension and continued that regimen until I didn't feel the need to yell.
I once had considered going into social type work - helping people. Tests showed that I would be good at it. But I reconsidered for the very reason that you found to be true. You're giving more of yourself away in an emotional way and after coming out of this religion you find it's a time for a change. Became a floral designer instead. And loved the work. So, I feel you are making a good choice for yourself. And you can always go back to your business if you feel ready. A person has to take time for healing themselves before they can help others.
Best to you!! Juni
