Latest Society edict: proper dress after conventions

i left the organization in my heart a year ago, i stopped going to meetings a week ago.

this was recently announced for the upcoming convention.

jeans and t-shirts are not to be worn in public after each day's convention program.

This is such foolishness! And note in the scanned KM that Atlantis (Nevada) posted that Jehovah will be pleased if you follow this rule. On the flip side of that Jehovah will not be pleased if you wear temperature and occassion appropriate clothing.

What a set up for "do more" and "be more" - no wonder quite a few JWs become clinically depressed. Nothing is ever good enough for their god.

These old farts are nut jobs!! Just cause they don't look good in speedoes!! I think they're moving the fashion back to the 1920's.

she left me today......

i went out to see my sister and my mom... when i got back she said she was leaving... when i asked why, she said she was weirded out by my lack of trust.... i couldnt trust her,, so i hid things... its not her fault, its not like i was lying or anything, but i mean some shit, i just didnt tell her... i am so used to being called names, lectured and torn apart for being 100% honest, that now, i still am scared to let anyone completely in... now the best thing that ever happened to me is gone... she left and im not sure shes ever coming back... and iom not sure who to blame.. i mean its obviously my fault, but did the borg put a fear of trusting into my heart and soul?

i guess i cant blame anyone but myself... but at this point, im so torn and hurt that im not sure what to do... all i know is that what was finally having the semblance of family to me is now gone... the first time i was able to live with someone and love someone, albeiut with an ingrained sense of distrust, has disappeared, probably never to return..... .

this has broken me, i don't know what i will be doing with myself for the next couple of days... i feel almost dead inside... the infamous one.

Stay on track! You won't regret it later. I married at 18 (in 1967) and had my first baby at 19. Three more kiddies followed. Now I'm a grandma of 6 grandkids. Having that further education is never a bad decision!!! There's plenty of time to have a family if that is your desire. But a woman needs to have further education to get a decent paying job if something happens to her marriage or even to help support the family during these times of high prices.

Thank you all for posting a little more about yourselves. I'm sure the discussion of further education will help those who are making that decision.

My grandmother who has since died was raised on an Iowa farm. She was only able to go as far as 8th grade in a one-room school house as she was needed to help w/the farm chores. She always emphasized the importance of education and that it would be needed to make a living in the future. She was a lady ahead of her times.

Just Married!

well me and megan are all married now.. we had an amazing day, the weather was perfect and of course the baby was there in a way (inside its ma').

mum unfortunately missed it because she was in hospital from thursday, so next year were renewing vows to give her the opportunity to see something similar to what we did yesterday.. thanks for your support here everyone, love karl (and megan).. .

That is really sound advice! I don't think this is just a JW saying, but here goes:

"ROUGH WATERS MAKES A GOOD SAILOR GREAT" something to that effect.

Adversity can force us to rise above tragic events and be successful in the end! You're one example of a success story.

HELP....My Daughter Has FLEAS!!!

has anyone here ever dealt with this????.

i have tried olive oil, tea tree oil, flea shampoo and now mayo with tea tree oil.. they are so small it's hard to tell what they are but i saw them the first time she came home and they were big sand fleas.

she had gone to the beach the week before and then when the school did a head lice check they told her she had fleas.

Good lord what next, hey?

Whenever we visited my in laws in Florida where sand fleas are rampant, Dad had to "bomb" the house before we came. There is something that the dr. can give you for the intense itch. Perhaps call the Urgent Care facility in your area since it's the weekend. I wish I could remember what the dr. gave me to take before we went to Florida so that I wouldn't get a reaction to the fleas.

I feel for your daughter. Those bugs have a mean bite. Also they hop on animals too so if you have pets be sure to treat them as well per vet's advice.

I like a variety of music and I like Annie Lennox.

The JW organization finds fault w/almost, if not, everything. Always the worst case scenario too.

I'm sure a lot of the great composers weren't squeaky clean either. But they want to overlook that.

Bigdreauz - give your wife positive affirmations every day! I just finished reading "The Five Love Languages". Can't remember the author. Helpful book. Everyone needs to have their individual love-need filled in a different way. It can help improve marriages and friendships.
