  Beautiful Women and Dorks

  looking back at a few bethel threads and getting calls from many former friends last week about the assembly season, i reflected back on some of the assemblies of the past, particularly in the 80's and 90's.. do you remember beautiful sisters that just had the criteria of having a spiritual man.

  they would get a dorky pioneer / elder / ms and walk together at the assembly.

  everyone would wonder, "how the hel did that happen".

  I can think of one very abusive MS right now who married a sister who is one of the sweetest people on earth. Every brother was "after" her. And she settled for this moron. No one understood why. She had a son - was never married - and he was divorced and had 3 kids. Then they had I believe 4 kids after that. Now the kids would all be adults. Messed up I heard......any wonder?

  And she's still married to the idiot. And he's still an abusive ***hole.

  Yes, Juni. And in this age of DNA evidence, video cameras everywhere, etc. there are more and more cases in which there is 'absolutely no doubt'. Which brings up another problem. When is inarguable evidence going to put an end to defense lawyers who turn these cases into long, drawn out trials that often end with a confused jury finding a killer innocent? (OJ for example)

  At least in the US, if you have the $ you can hire an attorney who will muddy up the waters real good to sway the jury to have reasonable doubt.

  But???? Didn't Johnny Cochran die? KARMA...

  That sounds mean perhaps, but WTF? This sort of attorney needs ... well never mind.

  Torn over presidential candidates

  talk about my own crisis of conscience!!.

  im a republican, and have always voted for republican candidates for president, this upcoming election leaves me very little choice.

  this may be the first presidential election since 1996 that i wont vote, nor can i even get excited over.. .

  JunctionGuy with all due respect to you - you might have to move off your Republican stance. I agree; it's frustrating...........

  My grandparents used to vote Democrat (they were Iowan farmers) ALL THE TIME. My mom would say if the Devil himself were Democrat you'd vote for him.

  I just hope there's a qualified person to vote for......... I consider myself neither Dem or Rep.... I just hope the best man/woman gets the job. Perhaps it will be an Independant this time? Probably not. Who knows.

  I get so fed up w/all of them..... government has got SO BIG and there is so much waste.

  i apologise for taking the liberty of using my alias to attract attention but a number of people have contacted me to ask what they could do to help by way of being a stem cell donor (without a stem cell donation soon i will likely die).

  i cannot express enough just how appreciative i am for such wonderful thoughtful gestures.

  it is possible that your stem cells are a perfect match for me and that you could literally save my life.. however, if you are not a match you could very well save someone else's life - so do please consider being a stem cell donor.
