Or was it, "...... In Freedom of the Sons of God"? Can't remember the first few words. Think it was a red book.
Thanks Seeker.
in the farkel writes a book thread, he mentioned gedanken, who was one of the more interesting posters on the old h2o.
it reminded me of him and some other posters i enjoyed but miss now.
what's the story with gedanken?.

in art, there can be no wrong opinions, we like what we like and have to offer no explanation for what we like and/or do not like.
that said... my take on last night's rem concert at lakewood amphitheater.
ok, so i'm an athenian, that means i'm supposed to love all things athens, georgia is about; but i've never been a big rem fan... in fact, when i was offered front row tickets given by the band themselves, i really didn't want to go.
hey dawg.... yeah I agree. I only like REM's, "Losing My Religion" and "Everybody Hurts".

Excuse me......I don't want to derail this thread too seriously. Seeker4? Wasn't the Let God Be True book also a required study book after the Truth That Leads to Eternal Life book? Or is my memory failing me? That was in 1970 and I believe that's what I had to study after finishing the "Truth" book.

last week hambeak was in the hospital having had another stroke and i believe heart attack.
i am not sure if he is following on the board, but he may be at home by now.
i stopped by his work seeing he was determined to be back at work...two days after the hospital...i told him not to, but you know he is stubborn.
I'm thinking of you Hambeak. I wish you well.
I remember when Hammie offered to all of us his expertise in diagnosing car issues. He started a thread so that we all could get advice. How nice is that, hey?

just got this from a friend.
weird stuff, if you ask me.
.................a little too familiar to what we were hearing before 1975.. bro.b***** had a part on service meeting.
Thanks Mulan. That IS like the pre 1975 speak and successive doomsday warnings.
And as far as the "concern" for the brothers and their finances (reason for BStudy changes)... yeah right. As Blondie has said, since when has the WT society given two hoots about their members? Never.
europeans and americans seem to have very different culture when it comes to cars which automobiles being much more enshrined in american culture (i'll ignore the obvious oxymoron joke .
for instance, off the top of my head i can think of quite a few references to cars in songs or just driving but they are always american songs and cars.
no one sang much about moris minors or hilman imps i guess and getting kicks on route 66 sounds so much more impressive than the services on the m6.. likewise with films, cars feature in american films but hardly ever in british ones (ok, chitty chitty bang bang and the double-decker bus in summer holiday are the exceptions).. does this explain the different attitudes toward cars on each continent?.
Thanks Gregor. I'm going to check that out.
when i read that the ford f-150 is the best selling vehicle in america i wrongly assumed that it was just the best selling truck.
but no, it has been the best selling vehicle for the last 17 years!
if that is the best selling you can be sure that there are plenty of similar models from different manufacturers being bought as well.. they are huge, fuel-inefficient things and i seriously doubt that even 90% of the people who buy them really need them.
yeah Rub..... why not, hey? Naughty kid goes on top...

Have any of you heard of a little car called a Singer ... '55 Roadster? Believed it had an aluminum body

Thing is this about the SUV situation ....
In the States they have strict car seat laws for kids.. those seats are very wide and you can not fit 3 car seats in the back seat of a full size car. So unless they were to change these car seat laws, families could not travel together if they have more than two kids w/o owning an SUV. Those families know they are gas hogs, but options are very limited or none at all.

OMG! LMAO! @ Hill and HS and Farkel..
can we keep this thread going a bit longer? I loved cruising Wisconsin Avenue downtown Milwaukee looking for sailors back in the '60s.....and owned a 95 Mustang 5.0, 5 speed too. I loved that car!
Cute thread Simon... yes the "love affair" w/the car is part of our culture.
