Jesika:
I went along with it like everyone else, but it did suck! I always felt like we were intruding. It wasn't very courteous to disturb ppl at a time when they were probably very busy putting the finishing touches on a very important meal. I just rationalized that it was a good time to witness cause a lot of ppl finally were at home. I never truely felt that was a good time for witnessing.
.
i read in the who who's in the bible (readers digest)that the kenites r said 2 b descended from cain,i thought the descendants of cain were destroyed in the flood, please explain someone(of course this may only b a idea derived from the fact that the kenites r said 2 b metalworkers, just as cain was,but it is interesting that the kenites r said 2 b descended from cain.. my second question is what happened 2 the 2 cherubim who had flaming sword which fled 2 and lo protecting the garden of eden, after adam and eve were expelled.. r they still there?
The only ppl who survived the flood were Noah, his wife and his three sons and their wives. Noah was descended from Adam's son Seth. Therfore at least paternally, none of Cain's descendants could have survived cause none of em were on the boat. I don't know who were the father's of Noah's wife or his son's wives. The Bible just doesn't mention anything about them. Although Jewish tradition does state that Adam had like 20 sons and daughters or something like that.
My guess is that the Cherubs went bakk to heaven after their tour of duty. Being in the middle of that fight between their parents and the other kids must've sucked.
this is about running the forum:.
it's a balancing act.
it is impossible to please everyone all the time and i don't go out of my way to try to please anyone ... i just do what i think is right.. some good examples are controversial topics: if i lock or delete something that is controversial then i am accused of "stiffling free speech".
Simon, considering the lack of involvement in bash simon threads on JWO, I would think the obvious answer would be "No". However it seems I'm supposed to watch what I say here as well as everywhere else. So much for an abuse victim being able to vent once in awhile. I feel like I'm back in KH, where I have to watch what I do, even in public.
Trauma-Hound it's called decorum dude. U are an IT professional. IT professionals deal with all types of ppl in their jobs. U know that what may be proper decorum in one place may be inappropiate somewhere else. the fact is in the real world u always watch what u say and what u do. That has nothing to do with freedom of speech(which is always relative) or the kingdom hall(which contains numerous other dynamics). This issue is not as black and white as Simon's detractors would like to convince themselves that it is. Still it isn't neccessarily a complex one, either. Actually it's quite grade school and childish.

When someone would shoot holes in the so-called facts and point out flaws in the reasoning, Jim would simply avoid the questions and begin yet another thread.
Exactly. That showed me a long time ago that this dude wasn't interested in a real discussion. He simply wanted to rile ppl up and advance his own agenda, which while lacking specifics for the most, was defintely biased towards ppl of Jewish descent.

LB, Ken, I wish Bill would let it go as well. Bill making ANY statements in anger about ANYONE, even including the governing body of Jehovah's Witnesses is inappropriate for a professional presentation. In a professional presentation, in my opinion, only facts should be presented and the reader should be left to draw their own opinions. For Bill to draw conclusions FOR his readers is inappropriate. For Bill to carry on a private argument or disagreement with or about Ray is inappropriate. He manifestly gets off message when he does that. Such behavior is entirely unprofessional and he hurts his message and his efforts, thus he hurts the very people he so wants to help when he engages in such unprofessional behavior.(And just so he will know that I'm not just a freelance fault-finder here, I'd like Bill to know that my undergraduate experience and education is in the journalism of mass communication, and I have thirty years experience in professional, business-oriented communications of all kinds. I know whereof I speak. Bill, you need to drop it and concentrate on your message and only on your message.)
Thanks for saying this Francois.
Although I hear Rush Limbaugh's(sp) voice everytime I read one of your posts, I think u summed things up quite nicely.
for years i have seen this guy on tv i recall going out to la for a dc and his church was located in the territory of the bethelites family i stayed with and we laughed at how he was getting over on folks, just taking their money.
and now i learn that he got his early training from the jehovahs witnesses.
yes i think fred price is my new idol.
Here in New Orleans we have what is called the Greater St Stephen Full Gospel Baptist Church.
It's headed by a very talented and charismatic speaker called Bishop Paul S. Morton. They pratically own the entire religious scene in New Orleans. Being that goin to one of these mega-churches is kinda like the in thing now, Greater St. Stephen and it's subsidiary churches are very popular. Paul S. Morton if I am correct spawned a nationwide Full Gospel Baptist movement. Basically, what he wants to achieve is a unification of black Pentecostals and Baptists. In fact at one of his recent seminars he spoke to his audience and said that there should be no problem with a person thinking of themsleves as Pentecostal Baptists ( he was raised in the Pentecostal Faith).
What amazes me is the lavish lifestyle these guys are able to afford and the fact that they experience very little shame associated with it. There was one guy whom was appointed a Bishop in the association of churches at the young age of 25. His name is Darryl S. Brister and he is a very talented, dynamic speaker. I've seen some of his sermons and I have to give it to him he's good, very good. At last count the guy had 8 cars including at least one Bentley and a (u guessed it) Rolls Royce. He being the youngest Bishop appointed by the Church. Bishop Wiley who presides over the West Bank Cathedral (not a catholic church) recently purchased for his teenage daughter a Lexus SUV. U can imagine what he drives personally.
Religion has always been about money and the preachers are always gonna get theirs.
