Boys Gets Stuck In Animal Game Machine
by DevonMcBride inboy gets stuck in animal game machine
sheboygan, wis. (jan. 5) - a 7-year-old boy had to be rescued with the help of a locksmith saturday after crawling into a supermarket's stuffed animal game machine while his father talked on the telephone.jeffrey roland debbink.
"he was sitting right in there with the stuffed animals," said shift commander mark zittel of the sheboygan fire department.. he said the boy, whose name was not released because he is a minor, crawled through about an 8-inch-by-10-inch opening to get into the glass enclosure via a chute where the toys come out, but when he tried to get back out his way was blocked.. the stuffed animals are prizes that can be hooked by players with a crane-like device.. "his dad was three feet away at a pay phone," zittel said.

What's wrong with this picture?
by eisenstein inmaybe i had my nose in way too many wts and as but, can someone tell me why does it seem to be that the republicans spend all of the money while they are in office...and the democrats are left to balance the budget and pay back the deficit when they get back in office?.
i have been listening to some of the debates and it seems that the one major topic again going into the new term will be to pay back the deficit and balance the budget...don't the republicans have all of the money anyway?.

This is a major topic because the spending proposed by the Bush admin will lead the country into record deficits. In the next 2 years the spending deficit could exceed 500 billion dollars.

I guess every little bit helps. However, I am a bit weary of the Gov. proscribing all these laws that force leaseholders to act a certain way. I say leave it up to the discretion of the parties involved, or at least make sure that ppl who rent or lease to service men get some type of monetary compensation for their inconvieince when the serviceman gets called up.

Who Was The Very First Poster That You Met In Real Life?
by Englishman inthe first poster that i ever met was philo.. we'd traded a few stories via the site and i realised that we knew some of the same people down in portsmouth.. he was very cagey as to his real identity, but eventually we shared emails and he told me all about himself.
one day, i took hl down to portsmouth to see my daughter who lives there.
i'd mentioned it in a post, that i was going in that direction.

I had the pleasure of sharing a couple of drinks and a very long convo wit Six of Nine. I wish there were more ppl that posted who were from the New Orleans area. We could put the Texans to shame with all the stuff that is goin on constantly in this city.

The Pianist
by sandy ini must clear my conscience.
i watched this movie the other day even after swearing, on this board i might add, i would never watch it due to the fact that the maker roman palanski is a child abuser.. ok, throw your stones now if you must.
lol.

I saw this movie last night. There were many messages sent in this movie and Polanski did a great job in capturing the complexity of the Nazi occupation in Poland. This movie is hands down one of the best I've seen.

Pleasing Jehovah or Pleasing the Congregation??
by worldlygirl ini was always annoyed with my ex for using the words "pleasing to jehovah" to describe certain actions.
in actuality, he an his family (and i suspect others as well) seemed to be much more concerned with pleasing other witnesses or members of their congregations.
as an outsider, it seemed to me that they were always looking for "loopholes" to get by with certain practices, as if they thought they could trick jehovah or that he wouldn't notice so long as they were not reproved or disfellowshipped.. my ex sister-in-law regularly spent the night with her boyfriend or he with her.

This type of behavior was one of the main reasons I left. Witnesses in general are far more concerned with appearances. As long as a person is in "good standing" what they actually do is moot. I know of many ppl who are as wordly than the average non-witness yet becasue nothng officila hasn't happened to them they are seen as ok ppl. Yet, a contrite person who owns up totheir short coming and is trying to turn their life around is burdened with all types of rumor and innuendo. It sucks.

The Real Reason so many rich white men got out of service
by SixofNine in... in vietnam, as explained by tom delay (r)texas :"he and quayle, delay explained to the assembled media in new orleans, were victims of an unusual phenomenon back in the days of the undeclared southeast asian war.
'so many minority youths had volunteered for the well-paying military positions to escape poverty and the ghetto that there was literally no room for patriotic folks like himself.
' satisfied with the pronouncement, which dumbfounded more than a few of his listeners who had lived the sixties, delay marched off to the convention.

Libya to give up WMD!!
by imallgrowedup inbreaking news!
libya has voluntarily decided to dismantle their wmd program!
i guess the iraq war and the subsequent capture of saddam is having a ripple effect!

Libya giving up WMDs is moot, imo. The recent problem in the world hasn't been due to rogue states. It's been due primarily to Islamic extremists, that can exist in any country even our own. Remember the 9/11 attackers trained and prepared for their attacks in the USA and Germany.
