When I told my sister I wanted to become a realtor. She and the other witness sisters had nothing but negative things to say about it. My Worldly father, so to speak, was all for it. Totally different mindset.

That is so IMPRESSIVE!!!! I'm really proud of the two of you. I was wondering, where do you live now? I can't answer alot of the questions you posted, just wanted to say go for it. You're both still young! Have fun too! I find learning new things is alot more fun now then when I was younger. I wouldn't say it's a big achievement, but I did a real estate investment course. Home study. I sold our single dwelling house myself and have bought a duplex. It has been a big challenge! Being a landlord is alot of work. Hard work. It has it's ups and downs. It's a sense of achievement for me, though. I now want to become a real estate agent and buy more properties eventually. It can be very addictive. Investing is fun! RHCP-My husband, well now ex, and I converted the duplex into a fourplex. Lots of sweat equity. Some fun times though!

Letter from my mother........
by Redneckgurl inwell, it's starting.
my parents came by the house this past weekend and their memories were refreshed by the christmas lights we had up around the house that i was no longer a jw along with my husband and children.
today she left this note in my car, along with a poncho that she knitted for me ..........tell me what you think, i want to write her back, but i would love to have some suggestions to use!

Be the better Christian, thank her for the poncho and tell her you love her. Even though you really want to say what Country Girl did. Enjoy their love and love them in return. I know it's hard because for me I still want me parents to be happy with how I'm living my life but they just never will. As long as your happy that's all that matters. You're not really hurting anybody. Eventually, hopefully, she'll get over it, or just resolve herself to the fact that you live different lives.

Group promotes international friendships among women
by jgnat in"it's a small world after all....".
i discovered this neat association on one of my browsing expeditions today.
this is my idea to end war; make friends, one at a time, until there is nobody left to fight.

I think it's a nice, warm idea.

They are making me mental!
by CeriseRose inno, not jws (although if i think too long about it, i'm sorely tempted to decorate my car a la christmas and park it at the kh during a meeting... *evil grin* ).
i belong to a 'non-religious' message board (have since 2001) that seems to have a large proportion of newly-arrived christians on it.
normally, i could care less if they're there; the topic is not religion, there's plenty of places to post that don't even smack of religion.

When people talk like that ("Godly Crap" ) it always makes me think of those church message boards. I don't know where they get some of their ideas. I'm convinced the're on drugs when they make them up. It's always good for a laugh. Do people actually take that @$%# Seriously. It's too much sometimes. A conversation on a chat board or in person like that would annoy me all to hell. I would stay away, they're going to try to convert you. It's only a matter of time, before the bible claws come out.

Is It More Important to You to "Love" or Be "Loved"?
by pettygrudger inalthough both are important parts of human existence, they are not mutually inclusive.
is it more important to you to feel "love" for others or to know you're "loved" by others?
i think the answer to that question sometimes dictates our actions as human beings..

I think those who take love and don't give it back probably feel pretty empty at the end of the day. How could they not. That's so selfish.

I feel that they are equally important to me. I love to love and be loved in return. It's the greatest feeling in the World. To be loved by friends, family, your lover. It's an awesome feeling. Loving is so much fun and so important in life. Keep on loving people. We need more of it.
