Removed from being an elder for being over weight?
by frankiespeakin inin the waterbury conneticut area there was a circut overseer named caramelous (greek name not sure of spelling).
this brother more than 30 years back was having all the congregation servants removed because they where over weight.
i guess they used not moderate in habits (eating too much) as a scriptural reason.

Hi there, It sounds like you have a pretty good idea what to do. You just need a self esteem boost. Your grade is awesome. I'm very impressed. Don't let your parents or any Jw hold you back. Follow your dream. Go where your heart wants to take you. Don't be afraid you have the drive, look at your grade level. I would go to the University and see what financial backing you can get from them or other resources. Go for it. We are all rooting for you. Let us know how things turn out. Tex, it's not too late to fulfill your dreams as well. Don't stay in a job that you hate. Go and do what makes you happy. Be all that you can be. We all know that you have it in you. Go and do it.

Do believers and unbelievers benefit from each other?
by Narkissos ini was thinking of this today.
we all live in religiously divided societies: in france unbelievers are probably the majority, in the us believers are.
but the minority in both cases is still influential.

I would say it is possible that they can benefit from one another. If the non believer can respect the one that believes and the other can respect the one that is an unbeliever. I personally don't see this very often in day to day living. It's a nice concept, though!

Can YOU Determine A "Real Apostate" From A "Fake Apostate"?
by minimus inso often , on this board, we see imposters claiming to be interested in learning the truth about the "truth".
they may seem to genuinely want to know things and they might ask thought-provoking questions.....so how do you know if the person you're dealing with is the real deal or not??
any tips to help us know who those "fake apostates" are??

My Mom recently told me she was close to not talking to me anymore because I am starting to sound like an APOSTATE. I guess the only reason I don't like to call myself one is for the fear of losing my family, but after listening to all your different ideas of one. I think I am. I was really uncomfortale about coming on this site at first. I actually thought of my husband as an apostate. I still had that JW mindset. Now I love to come here to learn more information, hear your stories and make new friends. Am I an apostate? I do talk down about the JW's on here all the time, so I guess I am. I don't know why but I still feel bad about it. I've been taught that Apostates are so bad. I just don't see it that way anymore. I've met a wonderful bunch of people. Apostates or not. I don't care. Who really has the right to judge. Only God. That's what man just can't seem to figure out. JW's being #1 at judging.

NHL Lockout... Whatever Shall We Dooooo?!?!
by Scully inso, it sounds like the nhl and the players association is deadlocked and there's no contract.
the owners want to put a cap on the players' salaries and the players say no deal to that.
if there's no hockey this season, have you thought about how you're going to occupy hockey nights??.
