Hello Claire!
Of course I would love to send Ian a message via the hospital link, what a great thing! And as usual we'll keep the Tuesday vigil going focusing on Ian in the hospital getting well.
Much love to you Claire!
it's been a long time since i posted here but i often read your messages when ian (dansk) logs on.
as most of you will know, ian will be going back into hospital on monday for an allogeneic stem cell transplant and will be away from the forum for a good few weeks (hopefully he'll be back home within 4-6 weeks).
last time he was in hospital many of you sent messages to his ward and i know they cheered him up immensely.

it is called the late ride.
it is put on thru the friends of the park and it is a total blast.
i have been doing it for about 10 years now.
Well the ride should be over now and I hope to hear all about it in the morning.
Friends of the Park also do the Naked Ride. Yup, you saw that right. And let me assure you, most of the people who do the Naked Ride should really NOT be naked.
Yeah they had that here last month and the pictures in the news paper were rather revealing I have no idea why anyone would even want to sit on a bike seat neekid! But then that would be the least of my worries......
have you seen this movie?
if not, watch it and let me know what you think.
you can watch it all right here, no need to rent it.
I'm not sure it it's the same people who did the tapes I saw a few years ago but the information is the same it's just revamped a lot easier on the eyes for sure!
Good stuff thanks for the link I'm going to find a way to pass it on to some of my JW friends......mass emailing! LOL
I'm horrified! What is wrong with you that you would dishonor yourself so much? Girl wake up, he's a loser, a control freak and any woman with an ounce of self respect would have dropped him like yesterdays news.
But...........awe shucks you love him, well then hun you two are made for each other and you've done at least two other people a favor by staying together.
...like the jws say it is.
i had to throw in a grabber to get your attention.
but yea, i have came up with a list, i may not be 100% accurrate or don't have all the unfilled prophacy yet, but this will give you some guideline on what to expect before armageddon takes place...which by the way will take place outside of jerusalem at a hill called meddio.
Say it ain't so!
who do you turn to?
do you go to your spouse?
what if the problem is with your spouse, do you talk to your parents, siblings, work associates, doctor?
Who do you turn to? 1.Do you go to your spouse? 2.What if the problem IS with your spouse, 3.do you talk to your parents, siblings, work associates, 4.doctor? 5. What if the problem is with your kids? 6.And the person you would normally go to is your spouse, but you disagree on how to handle the problem, then what?
Oh man lesson learned by me the hard way......what I'm about to tell you is opposite of what I did for years as a miserable married person and by the time I realized what a mistake I had been making it was too late the damage was done. So here goes lesson from the (hopefully) wiser, actually I can say wiser because in my new marriage (hope you caught that) I practice what I preach here:
1. Yes you go to your spouse, if you can't discuss every day problems minor or major with the person you share spit with whom can you talk to?
2. Refer to #1.
3. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER betray confidences, habits, annoyances, problems of any sort with family members or work mates not even your best girlfriend, it breaks the trust in the relationship. It's always one sided and think of how you would feel (betrayed) if your spouse did this to you! Beside as things go you usually patch things up with spouse and now your family members, friends and work mates know things about your spouse which will be very hard for them to forgive and forget. That is just wrong and a betrayal of the trust of the union! It's also wrong to burden other people with your problems when they have no power to make the change only the one you have the problem with has that power so the burden belongs soley to them to fix. Then they are just left knowing crapy stuff about you and your mate, sucks all around.
4. Doctor, yes! Professional help is the only person you should seek advise from, hopefully with your spouse along side.
5. Refer to #1. As a marital unit you should work together and find a common ground to solve problems for the good of the child involved. Too many times you are involved in a power struggle of I'm right you're wrong and guess who suffers, the child. It's not about who is right it's about working together to solve a problem with a win/win outcome. Get over yourself, you (ME) are usually the biggest problem.
6. Refer to #5.
I hope this helps I know it's a far greater feeling for me knowing the person I love most in the world who sometimes irritates me the most in the world is the person I can talk to about every thing under the sun and there are no judgements but an honest effort to be loving and considerate of each other.
have you heard about a letter for all congregations announced next new change in wts politics?.
in letter is information that the time for the public talk will be reduced to 30 minutes.. does anyone have a copy?
.
30 minute talk and 15 minute prayer? LOL
Ya know the Brothers have such active lives it's really hard to buy out the time for a 60, 45 minute talk, now it's down to 30 minutes! I for one would feel cheated I mean why bother to spend all that time getting ready to go to the Hall for a 30 minute infomercial. When I was in 7 years ago there was absolutely nothing new being said meetings were beyond boring. This just may be the death of Sunday worship at the KH! Yay!
i'm thinking this morning at the enormous effort required to leave the witnesses.
that you all found your way here is amazing.
you are a select group of strong people, who will not allow life or any organization to knock you down.
Wow! Not only am I strong but I'm pretty darn smart! Frist time I could put a check after all the points brought up. Yay me! Some of it was darn hard but in hindsight I would do it all over again only one thing different....................I WOULD HAVE DONE IT 30 YEARS SOONER!
Thanks jgnat for the great reminder you are a real gem of a person I'm honored to know you! I'm honored to know all of you!
well, i'm sitting here on what should be a meeting night (how wonderful is freedom?
) with a stiff drink.
it's been a hell of a crappy couple of weeks and many tears have been shed but i'm feeling at peace tonight (even though brother in law yesterday informed us they only want emergency contact with us from now on - can you believe they want nothing to do with our two beautiful little ones, their nephews?!
If it weren't for all you lot I don't think I would be sitting here at peace right now and feeling confident that a happy successful life was possible outside the JW's.
Ditto that!
*clink*cheers y'all!
