Oh please not the little frogs!
... people that picket servicemen's funerals!
"a grieving father won a nearly $11 million verdict wednesday against a fundamentalist kansas church that pickets military funerals in the belief that the war in iraq is a punishment for the nation's tolerance of homosexuality.

we have a four and a half month old chihuahua--the cutest little male dog.
in the short while that we have had him, my wife and i have fallen very much in love with him.
i haven't had a dog since i was a young lad of about 9 or 10 (i'm way older now) so i've long since forgotten how male dogs behave.
AGuest I loved your advise!
Hmmm. I have 2 small dogs, male, 6 years and 2 years. Neither fixed. Neither hump. Both sleep with me. Go figure!
LOL Maybe you can get 'em to sleep with bisous!
it was great fun.
i rigged up a fog machine on the porch and spent the evening scaring small children.
you can't get a better night imo.
Glad you (and the kids) had a great Halloween Simon!
We were all ready for the little ghost and goblins but can't compete with the old downtown area just a couple of blocks away all the merchants stay open and put on a big festive Halloween celebration with lots of goodies for the kids. So we only had 6 come to our house this year! Glad I didn't buy too much candy and I'll give the left overs to our neighbor's kids.
Here's a picture of my goofy jack-o-lantern:
i am one of those people who always gives money to those who ask me on the street.
the reason is because there was a time when i was a kid that my siblings and i needed to beg on the street for food money because mom and dad were both addicts.. anyway, i was on my way into walmart and a lady stopped me and asked if i could give her a few dollars ($5 to be exact) so that she could pick up a prescription for some medicine.
she explained that she and her kids have been sick with bronchitis and although the kids were better she was not and had run out of money until her check came on the first of the month.. i can also sympethize with having to wait for government checks to buy what you need having grown up on state welfare programs and i reasoned that $5 is nothing for me and my husband because combined we bring in over six figures a year income.
Each one of us is encoded with a moral law that is shaped through contact with the society in which we live. Unless a person is sociopathic or has some other mental defect, he is well equipped to know what society demands and the course of actions that benefit society. And that, my freind, is plenty of qualification.
John, John, John, I hope you never have to eat those words and find yourself "in the system" Google Social Security Disability and read the horror stories of those who were honest hard working people benefiting society and then they had an accident or contracted an illness that kept them from working. You think SSI is there for you (after all you've paid into it for years) until you go to collect it. Then you get caught in the system a catch 22 and these are some of the very people on the street corners begging for money. They've lost all hope and this system this freaking society has let them down.
I hope you never find yourself in that kind of situation, yet life has a way of grabbing us by the balls and demanding attention, teaching us lessons we would otherwise never wish on anyone.
It never hurts anyone to be kind, or to lend a helping hand without asking anything back, giving generously when you can comes back in great ways, being a pompous ass comes back to kick you right where it hurts.
Peace and out.
please join us in sending your prayers, good thoughts, reiki, healing vibes, lighting a candle or just taking a moment to think of all those named and unnamed who are fighting cancer or in any other need.
also their loved ones and caregivers.. hugs, peace and healing to you all!.

I usually always give something to street persons who ask me. I figure it must take a lot to even ask for a handout, I'm not sure I could ever muster up the courage to do it.
I only give what I can afford to and even thought I know the money will not be used for say gasoline (as some have said they are out of gas) or food or whatever, I give and let them spend it..... I don't really care what they spend it on.
In times past I have given coats to street people, bags of food and dog food for their pups......why do they have animals?? I absolutely know their story is bogus and they will use the money for drugs or alcohol but I just can't resist people who are down on their luck allbeit brought on by their own bad choices who am I to judge? I just show compassion for them it must be a horrible existence some of them have, if my giving them a few dollars brings them any kind of comfort I'm good with that.
