it was around 11:30 a.m., just as i was lazily dozing off on the couch, exhausted because my 9 year old woke me up at 5:30 a.m. (he couldn't wait any longer to look through his stocking!).
i was rudely awakened to the sound of a car door slam in our driveway.

now i know lots of people here the last place they would want to be as at the kingdom hall, and i'm not claiming what i am about to say is a good or bad idea.
but, what would happen if a large number of people visited a neighboring congregation and partook of the emblems?
let's say an extra 10,000 partook.
Each Congregation is pretty good at knowing who is of the Anointed™ and who will be partaking™ every year. I'm pretty sure any other partakers™ won't be counted.

I feel your pain noni! I wanted to be one of Dean Martin's Golddiggers. About the time his show went off the air the Solid Gold show was on just in time to remind this outa shape Mama of 5 my dreams were over......that and trying to Pioneer™ every year.

Not to burst your bubble or anything but this gets suggested every year on JWD. I personally couldn't be paid enough to step into a KH and participate even in something like you've suggested, but that's just me eh.

Wow he remembered! I'm shocked! It was after all his idea to get married on a big holiday date just so he could remember!

my younger brother tried to kill himself today.
i am sick inside....sicker then i ever thought possible.
my mother told me the news in the cruelest of ways and i am now in a fog.. i blame the jw's and all the bullshit they put on children who are df.
I understand your heartbreak and concern. I wish there was something I could say which would help you but for me right now the situation is too close to home. I think we all just need to reach out to those who are lost in their own world of hurt however we can.

for those of you that dont know me, i am a single dad with 3 boys for 5 years now, my x signed her rights away long ago.. .
no support ever, no insurance, even before she signed her rights away, many long stories of her abuse that caused her to lose custody to me years ago, she has never dealt with her abuse over even acknowledged it, i put my kids thru years of counseling, and they do not wish to see her, she has been calling alot lately, i dont hear from her for maybe 4 months at a time, she is crying , wanting to try to see them.. i must tell you she has , mentally , physically, and mentally sexually abused them, and then charged me with sexual abuse, with which it took me a year in evaluations, and family studies , and 35,000 in lawyer fees to disprove, and the judge saw her lies and removed them from her for abuse.
i also believe she has many emotional problems , both real and imagined.
I can't help but wonder why you are even second guessing yourself with this? I do understand that sometimes we forget what evil looks like when we are so far removed from being that way. All I can say is man when you get to feeling like maybe she deserves to see the kids think back to the worse day they were in her care.......
As some have mentioned asking the kids what they would like, please don't! Kids all want a mommy and long for that and maybe even remember her at her best, but it would be a cruel thing to give them hope because she lost her mommy card the first time she ever abused them. Remember that.
Now go have a nice holiday and quit answering the phone when she calls, you owe her nothing! You do have the responsibility and privelege to make a nice life to your children.
we have been considering a new auto.
we have one with 125,000 mi and one with 145,000. they are both doing fine but i must admit i have been tempted by the deep discounts and rebates on new models.
so i take my car to the dealer.
Anyway, my '01 Acura TL is still like new and I am going to put some money into maintenance items and keep it.
My suggestion is to keep up the maintenance on this car as it's not even at half it's life! If you are serious about someday replacing it start banking the money you would be making on a car payment now and by the time ( a few years from now) you need to replace your Acura you'll have an advantage over the sales person if you can put down a hefty cash amount or better yet pay cash for your next car!
