  Prayer

  now that i am a long away from religion, i have to ask, what is the need for this prayer thing?

  now, god knows everything, right?

  I'm lost! I've lost my religion, have no god and just who is this jesus dude anyway? I think he is a trouble maker, lots of wars still being fought over him, I say stop already! I've had enough! Who would I pray to, who is the answerer of all prayers? I rather imagine whoever it is is asleep, I mean really how many times, from how many people do you have to hear the cry for help to stop hunger, disease, death, sorrow and I could go on and on, but I suspect no one is listening, no answers to all the request.

  I don't pray.

  Computer games or television or internet?

  its funny when i was younger my family always called me to come downstairs and be with the family,but the problem was my family would all just sit and watch tv and hardly say anything,so when someone says to me you play to many computer games or browse the web i say well its better than watching tv for 5-6 hours a day,all though i was brought up around tv i must admit i have started reading alot and now i actually like reading books and info on the net.is it the same for most of you on here,was your family boring or interesting, do like to play computer games,internet, etc.

  i recently bought an x-box and a gamecube halo and rogue leader are brilliant im hooked!!!!

  Thanks to my son for bringing his Playstation.....I just maybe hooked on a new outlet if I can just figure out how to use those darn controls, he makes it look so easy! ;o\

  Tettris, anyone have a downloadable version for the web? I love that game and am too cheap to buy it. Guess I could do a web search.....lol

  Other than that when I get bored I play the standard games of Solitaire,Free Cell, Hearts and Mindsweeper that are on my computer.

  satistics can be flexed to represent anything you want.. personally i know of out of a congregation of 89 .

  my daughter & son in law who is an elder, three elders wives , publishers 4. another daughter that refused to accept the witness life style.

  my wife just before she died had to be on prozac.

  Geeze, lets take a poll of how many suffer from shingles, incontenance, diabetes or name your infirment. Yeah it's true that a lot of people in today's world suffer from mental illness but no more than many other illness......I just feel bad for those who are looking for the "New Order" to take care of all their pain, what a crock of crap that is! Almost as bad as believing that there is a "loving gawd" that cares for you!

  This isn't a nice poll, mental illness isn't a nice desease and no one who suffers from it would wish it on their worste enemy.

  my mom was a pretty strict believer, but she didn't get baptized until i was 9, "surprisingly" my parents got divorced three years later.

  i have seen my share of horrors in my life; my own; others when i worked on the ambulance and in the funeral home.

  i've come home covered in someone else's blood and dealt with death on numerous times.

  i have been to the dentist five times in the past month.

  Welcome to the board Random and I hope soon you're wife makes her introduction here also.

  I can't believe how accurately you posted my life.....ha cept I'm a chic and way older than you. I'm glad you got out in your younger years, you have so much to look forward to and to experience. Just put the Borg behind you, honor your parents don't give in to all that crap about DAing yourselves it just gives crediance to the Borg and how wrong they are to label and shun people. It's just wrong to break up families over religion after all it's the "love among them...." yeah right!

  My wish for you and your wife is to live quietly the life you want to live. My hat's off to you both and I wish you all the success life can muster up for ya!

  A Gap In My Knowledge.

  i have a gap in my knowledge re some of the procedures that come into play when someone decides that they simply don't want to be a witness any more.

  just to explain:.

  in my dub years, there were any number of ex-witnesses around.

  I did the slow fade out, then moved 50 miles away from my congo.....no one called, no one cared! boohoo :( Just kept it simple although as Hillary_Step said:

  'I will not go to that hall while they are there', or 'When you sort out so-and-so I will return'.

  That pretty much applied to me also, it's hard attending the same hall as the woman who slept with your husband, and keeping a smile on your face.
