Actually, I don't think emu is a white meat. I think it's a red meat. I've had ostrich and it's a very clean, lean red meat and was actually very nice.

i have to hate them
by joelbear inhopefully i've given something to someone here over the years.
i know i've taken plenty.. i had to come here, the only place where i can say what i have on my mind and know that people will understand.. i took an overdose of medication on monday.
my long battle with anxiety and depression that is well chronicled on these pages got the best of me once again.

So strange...I was just thinking of you yesterday and wondering how you were. I'm sorry to hear you're hurting. We are here. We understand. And together we survive. It's not "surviving gracefully" that matters, it's surviving. We do the best with what we have. You're in my prayers and thoughts. PM me if you ever want to. I feel like one of the few old timers that remembers you from years past.
When you say friends are taking care of you, do you mean friends or Mitch?
Love,

I don't know about a sitcom method though. hey always have a happy ending. I wonder if it'd make more of an impact as a drama. Cheesy as it sounds, maybe a Lifetime drama or something? Instead of making fun, actually showing the seriousness of the situation.

What a wonderful ending. I am 11 years older than my little half-brothers from my father and step-mom. I miss my little brothers so much sometimes it hurts. I often wonder what their memories are like of "our" childhood and if they would ever open up and talk to me. They're both almost 23 now. I've seen them once in the last 15 years.

They did come to the door once when I was home alone, and I didn't have time to talk to them right then. So I played dumb and accepted the magazines (it was just about a perfect service meeting placement ) figuring I'd get them when they made the return visit. Guess what...that was over a year ago and they have never come back.
Neon, this happened to me a few months ago. I didn't give them ONE conversation stopper and they still excused themselves after just a few minutes. I haven't seen them back since then. I was really hoping to be a return visit.
As for phone service, when I lived in Hawaii as a teenager, we had been doing that for years with the high rises we couldn't get physical access to. After a hot morning in street service or door-to-door, we'd sit and munch on food and take turns on the phone for a few hours. That was in the mid/late 80's. But then again, Hawaii's congregations were very laid back and very liberal compared to the Mainland congregations. I've always wondered if the DFing numbers were lower there. The elders always seemed so much more compassionate there than other congregations I'd been to.

I heard about this on talk radio the other day. Tragic. One of the investigators said that there were so many pictures of the child at different stages of her childhood, that they could see her "grow up" as the pictures progressed. Just makes me ill thinking of this happening to a child for years...not a one time thing.

Live Like You Were Dying
by Scully inthis is a song - a very touching one, i might add - about how a man is diagnosed with a terminal illness and how it changes his life for the better.
this is the song that tim mcgraw wrote for his dad, former mlb player tug mcgraw.
so why am i posting about this song on a discussion board about being jehovah's witnesses and leaving jehovah's witnesses?

Beautiful post Scully! That's actually one of my new favorite songs. Our Sunday School teacher actually played it as a part of his lesson that day...he was teaching the same principal. I'm not a country fan, but I'll listen to Tim McGraw. I love the message in this song, but he's easy on the eyes too.

After 10 years of employment, I was terminated today!
by TresHappy inwell it finally happened.
i was summoned in the office today and told i was being fired and if i could i could a sign of letter of resignation.
i didn't because i want to get unemployment.

((((Tres)))))
A similar thing happened to me just a few months ago. Thankfully, I found two part-time jobs immediately after. AND I LOVE THEM! One is for an interior designer. The other is for a photography studio. I work a lot of hours between them, but I enjoy what I do. Even after a long day, I still enjoy what I do. Things happen for a reason. Watch...you'll realize later down the road that this was a blessing in disguise. The good thing for you is that you didn't sign a resignation letter. I did...thus no unemployment bennies. But I've learned my lesson.
Like you said...TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF!
Love ya and I'll be praying for you to have peace through this!

Help me set up my JW wife: What should I look for in a church?
by Check_Your_Premises ini am a never baptized ubm.
my jw wife is unhappy that i am looking for other churches.
after careful thought and several conversations we have agreed not to treat each other from the assumption that improper motives are behind whatever either of us decide to believe.

CYP,
I think Badger is a Quaker, perhaps you could PM him? It's a religion I don't know much about, but honestly...haven't heard anything bad about it.
I'm a Christian as well. I have found the churches I'm happiest and most at peace with follow Jesus two laws: Love God. Love your neighbor. The fruit of true Christianity? Love. I've found that in Bible, Baptist, and Catholic churches. I don't believe one religion has the truth. But some people in all religions just "get it", which is love. That's what I consider truth. The most amazing thing to me is that all the churches I've been a part of, do NOT get all up in arms about you leaving for another religion. They're tickled that you found some place that feeds your soul. Not once have I been shunned. And not once have I heard a bad thing from the pulpit(s) about other churches. I know at one time in the history of these churches they probably did that, but not today. Perhaps the JWs are in their own little vacuum when it comes to what they "think" other churches are doing from the pulpit.
Just my two thoughts.

All of them had swollen genitals as the big male cat was "nursing" on them. Ewwww. We had to buy this stuff called "Bitter Apple" and spray it on all of the behinds.
