i thought i'd best make a new thread rather than add my message to the vigil thread, for example, as it might not otherwise get noticed.. yesterday afternoon i was allowed home from the hospital - but only until wednesday morning!
as many of you will know, i have been in christie cancer hospital in manchester, england, ready to undergo a stem cell transplant (in my case, stem cells taken from my blood to be returned later).

What a pleasant break from the sterile hospital! I know some of Claire's lovely cooking will welcome you right back to a comfy homey feeling. I know you will kick this Ian. How long has it been now since the diagnosis? Almost two years? You're a fighter and that's what we love about you!

we were out with a group on saturday and circumstances came up that i had a chance, for a change, to do one of my rv's alone.
i knocked on the door and she came out asking if i was dropping off the new magazines.
since i had them i said yes and then proceeded to tell her that i can't drop them off anymore.
Wow. I'm so impressed! Kudos to you for doing the right thing. I'm really proud of you!
wow, they sure do focus a lot on praise worship, and the boring sermon was like 15 minutes.
but there was homecooked food served in the back after the services.
i think i might attend a catholic church next weekend.
I went to a black Baptist church years ago and had a blast. The music was wonderful and the food afterwards...OMG...the best! I really felt like everyone really embraced my presence there and welcomed me with open arms. Had a wonderful experience.

my spouse always says she 'has to go.'.
kind of like work.
My husband and I attend church together. I love it. My pastor is funny, loving, and just an all around great guy. A normal Joe Blow just like the rest of us. The other people we've met there are genuinely caring and fun to be around. My husband and I go because we enjoy it, not because anyone is forcing us. It's one thing I've realized is so different about being a JW. We HAD to go out of guilt and shame. But nowadays if hubby and I don't feel like going (which is very rare) we don't have that guilt and shame. The time we do miss church, we really MISS it and are excited about going back the following weekend.

okay well the good news is i have joined the gym!
i feel motivated and energised!

As far as eating, eat smaller meals spaced out, rarely after dark, and no beer or fried foods or fast food.
I've never understood this. Calories are calories, no matter when you eat them. If you eat a candybar a 10 pm, it has the same amount of calories if you eat it at 7 am. If you exercise the calories off, they're exercised off. I just don't understand WHY time of day makes a difference. *shrug*
