Mulan,
One of these days I hope to meet some of my old JW friends and get caught up. I think it wonderful that you got to sit and share with an old friend! Thanks for sharing with us!

at this moment, i am at my cousin's home.
many of you know she is dying of cancer, and today i am taking care of her.
the hospice aide arrived a short while ago, to give her a shower, and i answered the door.

Slayer,
I think it's great that you appreciate your woman so much. Not enough of you men in the world. Fortunately, I've got one of them myself. He tells me all the time how much he loves me and loves having me as his "friend" first and foremost. You fellas are too sweet!

i got this letter today from a friend of my dad who i have not seen in years.
please respond to any or all of it as you see fit.
it pretty much sums up witness mentality.
OMG - I couldn't even read through the thing. Yawn! My advice would be to not respond at all. Doesn't it just burn you up when you put all kinds of work into something and nobody acknowledges it? Sorry - I just got sick of all the roundabout drivel.

Dan - sorry dude. I am half-Japanese and have Japanese decorations. That's about the extent of my knowledge with my heritage. I can count to 10 in Japanese, does that count?
Loved your spleen instructions!

well, i just replied to reagan in another thread, and wanted to share my latest thoughts on family.
anyone please tell me if you have used this tactic successfully.. i am no longer content to wait to get bashed with witty little jw-isms.
nope.
Joelbear - you are probably right. But they are going to school full-time right now at U of H (Hawaii), which I'm very proud of. The problem right now? They have girlfriends. Bethel has taken a backseat. Haha! I love it.
Spider - you've given me food for thought. I never looked at it the way you have. Thanks for sharing!

Harmony,
You and I are in the same boat. I try not to "rock" it too much for fear I'll be cut off for good. And being cut off from my parents would hurt, but not as much as losing my baby brothers. (Baby? They're 19! ) They're both VERY smart young men - I'm hoping that intelligence and their natural curiosity helps them 'see the light'. They both also want to go to Bethel. A few months ago, I thought "Oh no." But now that I've joined this board, I'm thinking maybe going to Bethel isn't such a bad idea. Maybe it will open their eyes sooner? I dunno. I pray constantly for God to watch out for them - to take care of them. I only hope that not too much damage is done if/before they escape.
I guess I don't look at it as being "chicken-shit". I look at it as being "strategic". Haha! I fear that is a JW spin. Haha!

i got an unsolicited email from a dub recently.
she read my stories at free minds and recognized one of the characters.
my brief reply was taken as an excuse to question me about the possibility of my returning to the jws.
MD - Personally, I'm proud of you! I know you must be proud of yourself too. I know since I've joined this board that I've learned how to say what needs to be said, but determining the timing is also of importance. (I'm not quite good at that yet!)
I just wish I had your courage when it comes to old friends and family in the Tower. I'm not there yet.

if jw's can be(or should i say are) df'd for smoking, why aren't people df'd for obesity.. it seems they say that you are violating your body and hurting it from smoking but i've never seen a person live over the age of 80 that was obese.
just seems like being obese is worse than smoking.
I think what Free was trying to say is that reasons for obesity are too variable. Obesity is an effect of a separate cause. Smoking is a cause, not an effect. DFing someone for obesity would be like DFing somebody for having lung cancer. Not all lung cancer comes from smoking. Not all obesity comes from gluttony.

has anyone on here ever come across the tiniest shred of evidence supporting this date for the fall of jerusalem.
i understand rolf furuli is about to but something out on this subject (see elihubooks.com), however even a table of contents has been a long time in coming from this site.
if no evidence exists what can he possibly be writing about?
Judging by some of the artifacts encountered during my archelogical dig through my refrigerator this weekened, I'd say the base contents of some food were placed in there on or about 587 BCE.
