a few years ago, a watchtower article discussed the issue of jws who are employed in the health care domain and who, during the course of their legitimate employment duties, have access to private and potentially incriminating information on other jws.
i think the article used as an example confidential information on an unmarried witness's file that documents she has had an abortion.

I have a question for you. I love your little emoticons! They can always reveal an emotion or thought sometimes better than my words. Or add to them in the least. If it weren't for the little winking one , my sarcasm would be lost on the audience and most people would just think I was being a b!+c#. But some of these icon/emoticons I'm not sure how to use. Could you give me some guidance on some of these?

I applaud your efforts in following the biblical counsel of whether it's wrong or right to celebrate Thanksgiving. I have a feeling you'll find there isn't much supporting NOT celebrating it other than Watchtowers. JWs always say, "I'm thankful everyday, I don't need a special day for it." Well, are they? They don't celebrate in the same way and they know it.
Being a balanced parent is a great goal. I wish my parents had followed their gut instinct about such matters. We weren't too balanced in much that I remember.

I'm embarrassed to say that I'm not much of a movie buff. I don't watch that many movies, let alone religious ones. But a few years ago Mozz pretty much forcibly sat me down to watch The Last Temptation of Christ. I was blown away. It was a life changing movie for me. I am hesitant to recommend it, because it was so life-changing for me. I don't want to build it up and it be a disappointment to them.

a protestant church on the left side of the road has a sign saying it's their 50th anniversary.
there is a rc church right across the street.

What's the point of having Protestant and Catholic? If it doesn't matter what church you go to -- why have any at all? It defeats it's purpose!
Maybe because not everyone likes vanilla? I love the fact that there are millions of people in this world that can find whatever flavor of worship works for them. Would you rather stick it in one pot and MAKE everyone partake of the same thing? I don't think it defeats the purpose at all.

I learned a few years ago, that anything the JWs taught me, I had to at least consider what they said was false. They told me that worldy people were hateful and selfish. I found the opposite to be true. They told me that once I lived on my own out in the world, I would become a slut, drug addict, and would live a lousy life. I found the opposite to be true. They told me that God was angry with me and wanted nothing to do with me. I found the opposite to be true. They told me that worldly churches were only interested in your money. I found the opposite to be true.
Looking back, my disfellowshipping was truly a blessing in disguise. I now know TRUTH because of it. And the JWs do NOT have it.

A comment I heard a few times was "even if Armageddon doesn't come in my lifetime, this is still the best way to live".
But so many people say this when they haven't lived life any other way. My dad was 27 or so when he started studying. He grew up in an abusive household, went straight to the Army, lived for 5 years searching and figured being a JW was the best. I don't get it, but that's just me. I've discovered the opposit...that it ISN'T the best way to live. For me.
