Experiences the WTS does not want you to hear at the Assembly!!!

you know how on the last day of a district assembly the chairman always give these great experiences about how the dubs that attended the assembly had great spiritual experiences while at dinner or at the hotel.

well, hears one you will not hear.

for about five straight years, a friend of mine (whose father was a jerk elder who thought anybody who drank should be df) would leave the assembly at lunchtime each day, go to a bar near the convention, and get drunk out of his mind!!!

Those experiences you speak about are disgusting and it is a shame a religion would have to sink that low to show God's favor, protection.

Here in the states Katrina got that kind of play.

2005's circuit assembly or special day, don't remember don't care, the CO spoke about the tsunami destruction in Indonesia and how sad it was for all and how they should not blame god for this occuring, that all sounded good to me and I was actually some what impressed with his concern for the people in that region, but then he started talking about how a couple lost there life's who were vacationing but another family who was vacationing and went out preaching got saved.

He then said "what has the FDS told us about our vacations, thats right that we should not neglect spiritual obligations". I got so Fukn Pissed Off that after the assembly was done I was going to approach him and remind him of all the JW who have died while preaching or at Kingdom Halls and also ask him what day is it safe to take the day off from Jahs acititivies to make sure this didn't happen to me, well I wasn't going to meetings anymore and my wife saw how pissed I was and stopped me.

There was plently posted on this site about the Tsunami if you get a chance read them.

Of all the places to see a dub (kinda funny)

my nephew attends a school that is operated by and attached to a large fundy church (boo!).

this year he made it onto the school's soccer team (yay!

) and as circumstances would have it i had to pick him up after practice tonight (indifferent!).

I saw a Dub at a Strip Club once and she gave me a lap dance. She did not rememeber me but it was her. Her uncle later comfirmed she did work there.

A bunch of us during lunch at Dodger Stadium were passing out this flyer for a party on the following weekend and quite a few JW kids were coming to my friends for the flyer..........

to make a long story short the flyer got shown on a Sunday talk about how some JW kids were planning partys instead of listening to the service. The flyer had a picture of a girl in her bikini on the cover and suggested to BYOB and lots of hot chicks would be there.

Thats one of my experience Pakage, back to you.

Dead Man Walking (Help!)

im sad to report that my best friend (who is on this message board) has given into pressure from his wife and has started going back to meetings.

i know hell be reading this so, what advise do you have?

Thanks Package for posting my ordeal and submitting advice for me (REALLY TONGUE AND CHEEK).

I have not gone to meetings since August 2004. My wife and all my close associates even Mint Serv Package knows it’s because I don't believe in the majority of the WTBTS teachings, some of my JW friend’s even kid about it when we have a few beers. Recently, though my wife has really had a tough time dealing with this situation, to the point that we have gone to marriage counseling. Initially I was against it but it seems to have helped our relationship and if nothing else shown me that if this does not work divorce seems like the only solution.

The doctor we are seeing, oddly he is an SDA, completely understands my situation on why I don't go to church. One reason why I do not attend anymore is because I find it very difficult to preach to individuals that we are the only God approved organization on earth, to say such a thing with out having an unquestionable amount of evidence (superpowers, premonition abilities, miracles, God on your right side) that you are, shows great arrogance on WTBTS part especially considering our track record. Doctor concurs, but suggested I might be a little more flexible on my standing and attend some of these church functions that to my wife are important and not discuss theology but see it as a social club to associate with friends, like a rotary club. I obliged and will be going to Sunday meetings only, ala Greg Stafford style.

What's interesting is that the Package has told me quite a few times that he sees meetings as a rotary club this way he is able to handle going to them with his family, I should have consulted you first.

Anyhow, that is my situation as it currently stands and thanks for your input.

The Devil couldn't have done a better job, assuming God inspired the Bible

if you were a mean spirited, nasty supernatural being that wanted to reek havok on human civilisation how would you go about doing it?

inspire people to write several versions of a book, call it holy, then get people to slavishly follow the version that they prefer and die for it when they come in contact with a different version.

could a kind, all powerful, gracious god have ever inspired such a book.

I understand in the bible mythology the devil can’t repent, I shouldn’t have used repent, but instead can the devil give-up, forfeit, runaway like a pouting general knowing he’s lost the war, or does the devil have no free will and has another self-fulfilling prophecy to care of .

in my case, i was very generous with those in need in the congregation, because i had a good job, but when i lost that good job, no one gave me a helping hand.

they just didn't care about my financial well being.. also the years went by and it was as if we were getting further and further away from what they previously prophetized.

Being a transplant donor, obviously finding out one would be df’d for obtaining a transplant (Noah's hoax a close 2nd), but the real kicker for me was realizing that those I represented have the power to define what the bible says.

For example I preached with many PO’s and CO’s that the bible thought the generation we are living in was going to see the end of the system of things, and they used the bible to show how Jesus said this and then formulated the question of how long a generation was, and then eagerly answered that the bible also answered this in question, then went to psalms and show that a generation lasted 80 years or so.

But all this changed in 1995 and my mind was able to discern that if they can change not only the answer but the question, how then could I possibly believe this crap and let alone teach it as truth to others………………… if only I could say that what I believed was based on FAITH.
