JW Answers,
great to see you filling out this post with multiple contributions. If this were a book launch, you'd be buying all ten copies of your biography.
the jehovah's witnesses are taught by their organisation that christ's body was disposed by jehovah god, they deny the physical bodily resurrection and explain that he rose again as a spirit creature.
as we take into account what the watchtower teach, i explain from the bible that christ rose again from the grave in his body, and showing forth that the jehovah's witnesses are in error.
in this video i cover:

when the nt says that jesus decided to go back to heaven, izt recorded his promise that he would be with his followers all the time, presumably to care for them.. so let's see how this coronavirus spread so quickly in south korea.. note: this video has been made by a singaporean media group that calls itself 'mothership sg".

South Koreans have a strong penchant for cults in which membership spreads like wildfire. I've no doubt that the members of Shincheonji will view the Korean government's clamp-down on their activities as persecution.
the jw broadcast for march 2020 is a hard push for more baptisms, where mark sanctamonious sanderson makes ready use of the phrase "baptised disciples of jesus" instead of their typical catch phrase "baptised servants of jehovah".
the "jesus message" is somewhat unusual rhetoric for jehovah's witnesses.
why the big push for more baptism?
They interviewed the old JW croney, RP, but for some reason they left out his middle initial (I).
a few weeks ago i had an really interesting conversation with three male jws who were loitering around a trolley at the west end of princes street in edinburgh.. i managed to completely avoid giving any hint about my jw past and focussed on why they thought the bible was a reliable moral guide.
i used the subject of slavery to illustrate my concerns.. one of the three was in his early twenties, knew a lot about his own beliefs but nothing about the real life and it was difficult to get through his thought-bubble.
the second one was in his 60s and not very bright.
A tactfully and respectfully composed email, cofty. Being on the relatively brief side, it would not have been too arduous for him to read and comprehend. The absence of rhetoric is a standout. I suspect the reason he has not answered is he realized there is no defenceable response.
It must be extremely hard for an individual who has spent a lifetime believing something to admit to themselves that they have been misled all of those years .
Yes, it's known as "the sunk-cost fallacy": The more you have invested in something, the more sacrifices you have made for it, the less likely you will objectively evaluate it and the more likely you will feel more convinced about it because the alternative view that you are wrong is too horrible to live with.
They do not die at the same time or even the same time period - so there is never a time when more than one JW male joins the GB.
Also, newcomers to the GB are chosen very carefully because of their demonstrated loyalty to the organization and conservative outlook. Selection criteria would exclude intelligence and critical thinking skills, among other qualities of thinkers. Even Ray Franz only left the GB after significant years of doubt.
Do not expect a new broom to sweep clean the organization.
ok i'll start the ball rolling.
winston from jamaica with his excellent channel.

a criminal in nz- in this case a murderer - has the right not to be identified - even after conviction?
quote: "why was grace millane’s murderer granted anonymity?
the reasons for the so-called suppression order, like the name of the killer himself, cannot be given for legal reasons.
The judge in the trial cited in the OP has said that the suppression order is not permanent. It has nothing to do with whether or not New Zealand is a left- leaning country because current legislation on name suppression was passed into law when the conservative National party was in power.
Once it is announced whether or not the defendant will appeal his 17-year sentence, the suppression order will be revisited by the Judge.
since disassociating in october 2008, i've had little to no direct contact with the jws, apart from immediate family members (ie my parents).
i've lived in my rented flat since may 2014 and haven't had a knock on the door in that whole time.
until saturday morning.
Mutual respect throughout the exchange. It could have turned negative very quickly but your astute mindedness paved the way for a helpful exchange. I like that you did not zero in on their specific beliefs as JWs but centred the exchange around beliefs shared by most Christian believers. They were less defensive and would even concede your points.
I've no doubt that these two JWs will remember the exchange and may even have thought far more deeply on the issues that came up. Well done!
