I would keep quiet about the reinstated ones not being allowed to clean Jw toilets for 3 to 5 years. Maybe there was a typo in the original Watchtower directive and the governing body meant that reinstated ones are not allowed to use toilets for 3 to 5 years. I probably should keep quiet about that too. There's nothing quite as infuriating as pointing out an error whose correction disadvantages the one who detected the error. However, given my record and my behaviour, from the Jw standpoint I probably would not be allowed to clean their toilets for at least 1,000 years. Aw what a shame and what to do in the meantime?

Brothers In Good Standing
by Englishman ini heard today that brothers who volunteered at assemblies were only accepted on the proviso that they were "brothers in good standing".
i also heard that anyone reproved or df'd might have to wait for 3 to 5 years before being allowed to clean the gent's loos as a volunteer.. is that right?
what other things are held back from folk who aren't quite up to the mark?.

Kill the Kid, Now That's Justice! (WT 5/15/05 QFR)
by ezekiel3 inthis in it's entirety from the watchtower may 15, 2005, page 31. you might find the reasoning a bit hollow.
questions from readers.
why were david and bath-sheba not put to death for committing adultery, whereas their newborn son died?.
-

Some find it difficult to understand why the son had to die,
No kidding? Doesn't this demonstrate how truly back-to-front the Watch Tower is? Jehovah could see that David was truly repentant, but because there had to be some consequence for David's adulterous fling, this loving God, Jehovah, had the kid killed. Scary stuff for the innocent kid, I'd say.
Slavish adherence to scripture results in people having to twist inside out their normal humanity and compassion.

Is Michael Jackson INNOCENT??
by breeze ini am sure this is not new topic, but today seems to open the ???
, is he just a target because of his wierd behavier.. i want to think he is innocent????.
the press in this country is sometimes off the center of the subject.....maybr not representing the real truth....???.

Be very careful, Under74. In my part of the world, sticking out your tongue is considered a sexual come-on. Many a red-faced American tourist, after a frenzy of tongue-sticking out at irritating New Zealanders, has found him- or herself surrounded by very pleased locals seduced by the American's unintentionally advertised sexual availability.

back to the topic- I had a friend say that she didn't think he was guilty because he was too child like and that wasn't what she thought child molesters were like.
A substantial proportion of child sex offenders prefer the company of children to that of adults and have conveniently naive interpretations of appropriate boundaries between adults and children. These adults are often pathetic creatures who are nonetheless selectively "clever" in the way they groom their victims, showering them with gifts and "special" attention. When caught, it's sickening to hear their version of what happened which invariably has them protesting that they were really behaving in a completely innocent fashion. They will often blame their victims - the lowest trick in the book. It's interesting how many times parents will say of a trusted adult friend who molests their children: "But we thought he was such a nice, sweet man who wouldn't harm anyone; my kids really liked him".
Unfortunately, folks, MJ fits the profile of your common pe dophile.

Are you out there Michael? If so, please give us your thoughts on the topic. By the way, it's okay: You can speak to me, I'm no longer a minor.

Homosexuality and how should a JW or 'Study' view it?
by AnitainFlorida ini am sure the subject is not very descriptive and for this i appologize.. i would like some assistnace in biblical references that say how homosexuality should be viewed and how one should deal with another that is homosexual or that has homosexual friends even if they non study's daughter says she and this other girl aren't 'doing anything'.
i know this is long winded, so i will just now finally get to the point.. i am a grandmother that has recently taken back up studying after a 1-2 year pause.
when i had first started studying, my daughter was also studying and we had our study togeather as i was staying with she and her husband because she had medical trouble and could not care for their 3 children when he was gone to work.

A practicing homosexual is no worse in God's eyes than someone who practices slander, lying, stealing, heterosexual fornication, etc.
Clearly Fair Mind is not a homosexual or inclined to have homosexual desires so he/she can have the luxury of pontificating on a topic that is reduced to a lifestyle choice. I like the comparison with heterosexual fornication. Hmmmm...I get it: it's not so much heterosexuality that's being condemned as it is fornication. Nice of you to lump a homosexual like me in with slanderers, liars, those who steal and heterosexual fornicators. I've come over all nice and goosebumply. By the way, I'm a perfectionist: that's why I spend my time being a practising homosexual: I so want to get it right.

What is Jacko's status as a JW????
by mrd83 ini know he was raised as a witness and he wrote the apology letter(which was published in the watchtower) as well as giving the wts a boatload of money($$$millions$$$) over the fallout of his thriller album.
recently he proclaimed his faith in jehovah as if he is still a jw and his father who kicked the crap out of his kids(requisite to raising a fine jw family) as well as his mother are attending court.
what is this guys status??

I wouldn't be surprised if Jackson was going to meetings again. There's a notable tendency among men who've been accused or convicted of child molestation of finding solace in religion. It looks good, especially for someone who wants to impress the jury. A few years ago, I worked as a clinical psychologist in several prisons and found it fascinating the way sex offenders suddenly (re)developed their ardent religiosity in a timely manner before they were to appear before parole boards.

i thought this site suppose to be kind to one another!
by sad and lonely ini just recently join this site because i was looking for a friendly place for witnesses to go and chat.it's ok!..but i seen a lot of witness bashing.there's another site i want to get into, that's also a site for the witnesses.but i don't know what po means.and that's the only way a true witness can get in.i think maybe there is where i want to be.because i don't need to be in a site for witnesses, where its suppose to be friendly.yet witness haters are coming in.i haven't heard any witness bashing anyone in this site..but yet its the other way around.

but i seen a lot of witness bashing
hey sad and lonely, I agree: there does seem to be a lot of witness bashing here. Sorry if it's getting to you. I could tell you that the amount of bashing here is nothing compared to the way JWs constantly bash ex-Jws. Yes, I could tell you that, but I suspect you know that already.

Do you sense "a sense of urgency" in the congregations?
by truthseeker innow that we're in the 21st century, and all those pre-millenium worries that a few had about armaggedon seem to have gone, everyone seems to be getting on with their lives, buying homes, going on cruises and planning for their retirement.. not everyone does these things, but there is so little talk about the great tribulation, armaggedon and the new system, you can't help but wonder if they are just going through the motions.. i see young people at the hall - they couldn't care less about spiritual things, although they may comment and go out in service.. i see people in the 30s quietly getting on with life - a few are building their own homes from scratch, others are planning on moving and some have bought new cars.. nothing wrong with this, but each of these things show an investment in the future.
a car has to be paid for (if its a lease), a home needs a 15/25/30 year mortgage and this all takes time.. time with a capital "t".. let's face it - the urgency is gone.
no one thinks about the "time of the end" and everyone does their own thing.. families are still having children.. one of my college professors once asked me: "how do you know that people have confidence in the future?".

The Watchtower is very much like the little boy who cried "Wolf" once too often. People are sick of getting ready to escape the wolf, when there is no wolf. Now, even if the world were about to end, who would have confidence in the watchtower's predictions anyway? The world may well end, but I think it will be in spite of - not because of - what the JWs have said.

Poor, pasty Peter Pan is finally forced to grow up and take responsibility for his actions. If you've been accused of sexually molesting boys in the recent past, it's not a good idea to speak to the media about there being nothing wrong with having sleepovers with little boys. Talk about the shit hitting the fan after he said this!
Equally, however, the alleged victims' parents knowingly let their sons spend the night alone in his bedroom. Their lack of responsibility for protecting their sons is as feeble as Michael's high-pitched protestations of innocence.
