there's a growing trend for white folks to listen to r&b, hip hop & even "gansta' " rap music, and its generally accepted in the black community.
will there ever come a time when black folks can reasonably get away with listening to country & western music and not be affraid of being clowned upon and derided for listening to it?

I think a time will come when it won't be frowned upon. I was looked at like I was crazy for watching tim mcgraw's tv special. lol! I didn't care, though. Maybe if I was brought up in TN, I'd be more used to it. But living outside NYC, I just don't see country music (the non-pop kind) played at all.

She should be allowed to attend. When I started studying, I was told it was ok to attend weddings in churches because "marriage is something Jehovah created".

just spoke to [some bethalite at a bethhell near you] last night.. she was telling us of the news regarding our brothers and sisters in the tsunami region.
in one area all the brothers were at the meeting when it struck, except for one sister who was home sick and a 6 member family of inactive ones who were caught up in it because they hadn't gone to the meeting.
I hate the fear tactic they use..."being in the kindgom hall will save you from..." I was told that in order to get me to attend the meetings when my son was just a month old and I suffered from exhaustion. "Armegeddon could come but you'd be saving your children by being there, remaining unharmed". I'm suprised I didn't lose it then.
Two mosques were left unharmed among miles of destruction that surrounded them. I wonder what they have to say about that.
we decided to go to ohio to see family since there was no snow and so the kids could get their presents from their grandmother.
before we left out my husband wanted to stop at his favorite eletronics store because they were having a really good sale on speakers.. we go to the store.
hubby goes in, buys speakers, and comes out with the salesman to load the speakers into our van.. after the speakers are loaded the salesman tells my hubby he wants to give our kids something but it's in his car.
I think he'd get in trouble for that, too. He should just work his normal job and leave it at that, without feeling the need to pester others.

1. Since they believe God is the only one who has place to judge humans, then they should step back from calling out others' fate in this world and labeling people.
2. The true meaning of love and what that encompasses.
3. That just because someone, or a group of men in Crooklyn say something is to be (such as the self-proclaimed jw's only path to God garbage) doesn't mean that it's true, hence contradicting Jesus's own words.
Bonus: That having anything to do with apostates is going against the society so maybe they shouldn't read this site, let alone post here with their judgements...that is, if they actually believe the borg is from God!!

Hi Dustin! There are a lot of people (maybe even some who haven't posted yet) who understand where you're coming from. I can see how they can make people turn against God after leaving. This religion is what we're taught comes from God and that alone could make anyone want to throw up and forget I ever believed in him.
