  MOTOVATION FOR BEING A JW ???????

  Fear of Armageddon

  Wanting/expecting to live forever

  pressure from relatives

  Not wanting to get 'told off' by the elders.

  Having been brought up a JW, I had no choice but to be one as I was browbeaten into the religion. I was told lies that i believed even though I new they were irrational. But fear of any consequences kept me and hubby prisoners for far to long.

  Now we just think, 'we really don't care what they do or think any more.'

  I even went into Sainsburys and bought lottery tickets at the cigarette kiosque!

  Cool and Rebellious or What!!!!!!!

  Yes!

  I would like to be buried under a oak tree in a carboard coffin. I want 'Boogie Nights' playing on the ghetto blaster followed by 'Ever Fallen in love with someone' a great punk classic.

  Then I want hubby and kids, and relatives who may care to show their faces to go down the pub, have dinner and a few drinks. Then go home and laugh about how I always embarrassed them all and had them falling about laughing every day. No Crying Allowed.

  i would like to raise a subject that i bet all you long-time posties have already discussed:

  when a person enters the org having already had a life outside it, he/she is told that family and friends must take a back seat.

  further to that, some individuals will even 'council' you that total departure from those you love would be wise and indeed expected!

  Hi Paws!

  Sorry for your experiences of JW isms.

  There really is no real love in JW land. It can all be dropped at a drop of a hat if the WTBTS give instruction to. You can begin to ignore and shun someone you have known for years just because they say so. And as for relatives, well they don't matter! Only obedience to the WTBTS can save you!

  You might look as hard as you like, but you will not find real unconditional love in Dubland!

  i?ve been reading some posts about the future of the whole governing body and fds doctrines and have come to notice something.. it seems like recently the literature has been focusing more on personal bible reading and understanding.

  oh they still spew crap about how great the publications of the fds are, but i notice a little bit of a trend away from that.

  for example: the bible reading highlights on the school.

  Those that would never miss a meeting or field service no matter what...

  did you know a few in your congregation that would never miss a meeting, no matter what.

  even if it was 20 below zero or 100 f or if they were sick, they would be there anyways.. these people irritated me, because they wanted to show how good they were.. did you know any like that?

  Yes! My side of our crazy family!

  They would NEVER miss a meeting, EVER!!!!!

  Then, when certain ones were dying, they bemoaned, 'Why me!' and 'What did I do wrong'! '

  I went to all the meetings and out in the ministry and assemblys. I always did my study'!

  And then the veil was lifted!! Lo and behold - it was all a superstition! They believed that if they followed all the WTBTS instructions nothing bad would happen to them. SUPERSTITION!

  'Poor Idiots!' So I was not surprised when my parents said they would never leave the 'trooth' because it was a protection for them. Still they do not see simply because they're stupid. And when I say, 'you're stupid' they reply 'Well God has chosen the Stupid ones to be his servants!'

  DA-ing Announcement in the Society's New Book

  the society's new book 'organized to do jehovah's will', to be released in the congregations .

  on the 20th of march, introduces a change in the df and da announcements.

  announcements will read the same: "[name of person] is no longer one of jehovah's .

  Well if they actually carry that out, there'll not be many JWs left since they're all a bunch of sinners and by their actions fall short of WTBTS standards every day. And from my experience a bunch of lying, two-faced buggers too!

  my therapist and i talked about the bible, specifically, adam and eve and their sinning by eating from the forbidden fruit.

  he says it is really a great lesson on consequences of your actions.

  i agreed and we talked at some length about it, but one thing i decided, god was not fair.

  Wednesday - Hello!

  God is not fair. If he was he wouldn't have let his 'children' suffer so badly just to prove a point about his 'sovereignty. I wouldn't let my children suffer just so that they could find out for themselves that they had to do what I said!

  Also, you got me thinking. This example of God keeping his 'children' aka Adam and Eve, ignorant just so that they would obey him unquestioningly, is this where the WTBTS have learnt the way they act. They 'advise' their good little JWs not to surf the net, not to question everything to deeply, to see them as 'God's only channel on Earth. to obey unquestioningly. I don't believe that makes the 'good little JWs' happy at all. The punishment for JWs who don't follow their instructions implicitly - shunning - or Death. They are thrown out of Eden ie the Organization. Though they won't die on that actual day, they certainly will when Armageddon comes.

  Not Having Kids in 'This System....'

  one of my former bs conductors and her husband decided when they got married, they wouldn't have any kids 'in this system'.

  i know the world could be better, but i see no reason not to have children if that's what your wishes really are....and you're able to for that matter.

  she just turned 34 and really wants to have a child.

  Tell me about it! (Teenage kids, that is!) You really wonder why you had them when they come in at one in the morning and throw up all over your hall carpet, dining room floor and walls, stair hand rails, stair carpet, toilet, toilet floor , toilet wall and light fittings, and apparantly that's after, 'I only had two drinks!" Yeah! And I'm Darth Vader. Then the other one comes home an hour later and wants to know why your shampooing your carpets at two in the morning! Have you both go dementia, mum and dad?

  I said, 'Any of your vomit on MY house again, and You're OUT!!!!!!!!!'

  I'm sure I wasn't that bad when I was young!

  Then the little Git, texts his girl friend looking for sympathy and says that his mother has thrown him out of the house and not allowed him back in till seven in the morning!

  Not that she, meaning me, made sure he got in the shower allright, into bed and made sure he was still alive during the night.

  If there wasn't a law against murder.....sometimes !!!!!!
