If we actually do start seeing a decrease, serious decrease in figures all over the world, I wonder if we'll get to hear the 'very stones cry out' or if they'll just remain silent.

56YESTERDAY'S WT STUDY
by Mary inoh lordy, at yesterday's botchtower study, paragraph 17 (i think) asked what we personally found "encouraging" about the 2004 stats that are listed by country in the wt.
anyway, someone finally put up their hand and remarked about how wonderful it was to see that ethiopia had a 5% increase......ya, i guess if you're starving to death, who wouldn't want to hear that paradise is right around the corner.
one bro put up his hand and actually mentioned the fact that there was 0% increase in virtually all the industrialized nations, but that we "shouldn't let that discourage us".

That is scarily accurate.
The child I have in mind was five years old going on six at the time. He was 'warning' his school friends that the world was going to end soon and that Jehovah God was going to kill them all and that they all worshipped Satan. His parents were called to the schoool and warned that if they did not prevent their son frightening everyone in his class with such scary stories he would have to be taught separately and failing that suspended until they managed to control him!

if you really wanted to speak to people, and felt an urgent duty because the 'end is near' why aren't the jws in the shopping centres, streets, and generally where the people are?.

I have just had another thought though - yes it does happen sometimes - I remember talks where they said that even if no one was at home for all the time we were out in field service we were witnessing to the angels who were all watching us! Wouldn't angels have better things to do?

One things for sure, judging by my mum's reams of Not at Homes, they're not in their homes! But, she continues, with her fellow JWs to call over and over and over at exactly the same time every week at the same empty houses!

Hi Spook! That is so enlightening! Isn't it amazing how the talks, assemblies, mags etc all take on a new interest when 'mentally' you have escaped being a JW and you begin to recognise the poo for what it is. I'd been a JW for nearly 40 years and had never read the Watchtower and Awake, until recently. It's great fun picking out the brainwashing phrases and the total crap that's in there.
Thanks for suffering the assemby for us! Very interesting! Weird about the young ones staying in their cages!
