  DEAD JW MOTHER HUSBAND TO SUE HOSPITAL

  i understand from news of the world that anthony gough wants to sue the hospital because he feels they were neglient in saving his wife's life.

  Scully - We all know how long this kind of help will last.....only as long as he remains totally obedient to the local elders.

  The minute helping him interferes with meetings, FS, he doesn't go out in FS enough, he says anything out of line, does anything out of line etc, the help will be dropped.

  Help was conditional on his wife refusing blood, and his continuing to tow the line.

  JW friendship is conditional and valueless!

  This young man is going to find out the hard way that he allowed his wife to die for nothing and I wouldn't want to be him when this dawns on him.

  Having said that,I wouldn't want to be a memeber of the HLC committee, Elders or WT Society who pressured him into allowing her to die!

  Sometimes, if we could just step back in time, just for a few minutes, how different our worlds would be!

  I don't think he would be stupid enough to try to sue the hospital...but if he did, it might well break him if he starts to follow the line of reasoning of the hospital defense!

  Great Letter!

  The Great british public are usually totally tolerant with most bizarre concepts which is why the WTBTS has been able to thrive in the UK.

  However, a young woman has died because of following the dictates of an American book publishing company's unitatiran approach to the translation of an old book that is followed to the letter only by the most mentally constrained individuals.

  It may well turn out that this poor young woman did not die in vain. Perhaps the next time, UK doctors will have new guidelines on how to act in this kind of circumstance which may involve hospital security guards physically removing any individual intent on allowing a 'loved one' to bleed to death, and with a special bounce out onto the pavement for all Hospital Liason Commttee members!

  Letters like this hit a chord with people in general. They can see why Emma Gough would have died for nothing if she died for following The Watchtower Society's rules.

  We can all help to make sure that this does not happen. Cases such as this make the world stop and stare in amazement at the delusions of certain cults and they demand that it doesn't happen again. We can all join in!

  i have not been here for a while, i used to be addicted but work got in the way, although i check back now and then.

  anyway i was reading about the girl in england who died as she refused a blood transfusion.

  Hi STezza!

  As a mum who nearly suffered a similar fate as the lady who died in the UK, which would have left me abandoning my husband with five children I can only say how sorry I am for what i did and how ashamed I am! I was thinking this week that I hope the doctors and midwives at the hospital I had my last baby in don't remember that stupid JW woman (ME) who nearly died refusing a blood transfusion.

  My husband was traumatised and is till upset eight years later after what happened. He did say this week that if they hadn't stopped the bleeding when they had he would have run to the fridge and fetched the blood himself!!

  My older children 22 and 23, and my twins who are 16 remember how ill I was in hospital after the birth of their new sibling. They shocked me in how they remember vividly everything that happened that week, the room I was in, the things that happened etc.

  And there was I, a) glad I wasn't dead, b) glad I wasn't going to be disfellowshipped as I had managed to stay alive without blood transfusion, c) and to be honest, feeling just a little bit holier than thou!

  I am so ashamed of what happened!

  Mums should not do this to their children!! Mums have a duty to stay alive as long as they can!

  As for your last post, it is amazing how many JWs I have heard of who have walked away from Watchtower land becuase of pedophiles who have been covered over and protected by the local elders, even quite recently! Shows it is still going on and they just can't take the bad publicity!

  Yes, It's Been Awhile, How Have You All Been?

  greetings my fellow jwd posters.

  yes, it's been quite some time since i've graced the on-line pages here.. i think like many people, you get in here "hot & heavy" so-to-speak, and then after awhile, you either grow tired of it; frustrated and well, peoples' reasons to leave or 'take a break' are as long as a roll of charmin (not great for writing on mind you).. quite frankly, i didn't think i'd find myself posting here.

  but after a couple of years; the occasional browsing of topics and to see how a few members were doing, i don't mind opening up the door once again periodically and add my two cents worth.. there looks to be many newbies, hell.....i don't even recognize 1/10th of the people posting on here.

  Apparantly he decided that all WOMEN would be dominated by their husbands because ONE woman ate an apple!

  I'd call that massive prejudice and possibly massive injustice!

  Rosalee - I understand what you're saying.

  BUT, you'd think that God would have managed to rise above such pettiness and would direct his only true religion on the Earth to behave much as Jesus supposedly did in rescuing the adulterous woman!

  Given ALL people behave generally in a certain pattern...you'd think the WT society, being driven by God himself would be different, but perhaps God is prejudiced also?

  Could this same attitude of men potentially 'getting away with more than women' simply because they're men be the reason that the WT demands two witnesses for child abuse which is mainly ( not completely there are some females) but mainly a 'male' offense against children?

  Yet a woman can be disfellowshipped for even going out for dinner with a man who is about to be divorced.

  The man escapes punishment if he is a child molester but a woman will be disfellowshipped for eating dinner.

  Does this make sense?

  Rosalee - Might we take it then that the JWs and other religions do not follow Jesus Christ example when rescuing and saving the life of the woman caught in adultery who was about to be stoned to death?
